I DID NOT MAKE THIS UP! Well not all of this. This is true! England comes from Engle land which comes from Angli land which means Land of the Angels..... This is what my brain made of it. Nothing more nothing less.Edit: It is Angleland wiki lied to me

well, we call England Engeland in dutch. engel is the dutch word to say Angel, so saying -angel-land would become Engelland, just add that extra L and you've got land of angels.

yeah. It was called that because the Angles and Saxons (Germanic tribes) settled there. I've heard them called Anglosaxons so that's where the "Angli land" or "Angleland" came from.
