Much of our natural world is disappearing and I am very sad that this area had probably already gone.

yeah, indeed! I've seen so many destroyed forests in my travels, and especially in the North side, and in Transylvania, there are huge areas where there's hundres of trees knocked to the ground, and everyday you can see big trucks carrying wood. And most of them have no authorisation. And the saddest news.. they wanna build a new highway to link South with North, that will erase a lot of virgin forests, coz it will be built right through the mountains

And there is very little we ordinary folk can do. It has taken my husband 10 years to get a small piece of bush near our town, made into a conservation area. It has many species of orchids, 4 of which are rare and endangered.

that's wonderful of him, all my respects. yeah, unfortunely we cannot do anything, as also Green Peace and ecologic organisation cannot do much, if the authorities and the goverments don't care, and they only want to make some money, even with the price of environmental endangerement.
the climate has changed a lot, and this country used to have 4 seasons, now there's only 2... in the past years there have been extreme weather, big floods, enormous amount of snow or really bad & hot drought, like never happened before in history.
maybe only when it will get worse,with many lives in danger, authorities will understand we must protect the environment!

Well I have been visiting a forest in my dreams since I was young and well...thats it...though it was much deeper and there is no end to it like the one in the photo. I love the picture a lot! I wish I could go there...

Gorgeous! I love the slight green haze... and the length of the trees is beautifully emphasized by the framing. The addition of the numbers add a slightly ominous or mysterious touch... such an interesting photo!
