Description
Me with one of the guest speakers at Iacon One, Scott McNeil. For those who don't know, Scott McNeil is a beloved voice actor among the fans. He's hilarous, he's insane, he makes everyone laugh...he's like Jim Carrey on absurd amounts of caffeine. He's also beloved among Transfans for providing the voices of several characters; Rattrap, Dinobot, Waspinator and Silverbolt in Beast Wars and Beast Machines, Jetfire in Transformers: Armada and Transformers: Energon, Strongarm and Omega Supreme in Energon, as well as Snarl and Backstop in Transformers: Cybertron. He's also known for numerous roles in the anime community (among them Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing and Koga from Inu-Yasha).
This is my second time meeting Scott; the first was at a 'con in the Chicago area, where he signed an artbook of mine. He remembered me; didn't remember my name, despite the fact that it's the same as his middle name, but he remembered me. Hot damn, he rocks.

Yay for Scotty!!! I see him at Metrocon in Tampa, FL each year, and he remembers me, yet doesnt remember my name. XD I seriously cant wait to see him at the end of next month for Metro. <333 I gotta go and watch Beast Wars and the Unicron Trilogy again.
PS: Most of my TF friends hate me because they love Scotty, and I got to meet him twice so far. XD

Lucky - I've had the pleasure of meeting him twice myself. Great guy, lots of fun.
Now if only I could meet other BW VAs...particularly ones who worked on Gundam Wing...

This will be my third year meeting him at Metrocon, since he comes back each year. :3 And he'll still remember me. XD He did a dramatic point towards me when he saw me in line to get autographs and was like "I remember you!" XDDDD
Then you would hate to hear this. All the main Gundam Wing voice actors came last year to Metrocon. >>

...Okay, I need to find out where this convention is, get employed, and save up so that I can attend. This and BotCon.
Seriously, I want to get autographs from as many GW VAs as I can - I already have Scott and David Kaye, but that's only two prominent guys out of twenty or so voice actors! I gotta catch up, or they'll all die on me!

Metrocon? Is in Tampa, Florida. Always has been, except for a few years that it was at the fairgrounds before moving to the Tampa Bay Convention Center.
Unfortunately, all of the GW VAs were here last year only. This year it's most of the Inuyasha cast and a few random VAs from different animes.

Ah. Hmm...my point still stands about saving up, however.
Eh, the two shows share VAs. Plus, if something happens once, there's nothing stopping it from happening again.

Dinobot is my second fave TF character, with Optimus Prime coming first. Aside from being human and having no fighting prowess, I pretty much am Dinobot. I may be tootin' my own horn a little, but hot dang it's a nice horn. That doesn't sound right.

Yeah, that is a little weird. Dinobot does kick butt, however.

*chuckles and smiles* man when I met Scott he was a blast. he also did many of the voices if not all of them for the Game Dawn of War all 3 of them!!! It was sooo cool to meet him. on his Guest of honor table I signed it with "ALL HAIL THE CHAOS LORD SCOTT MCNEIL!" he just laughed and was happy someone recognised him in that game.
He also had a horde of Koga like autographs, but me and a buddy found out that he HATES that show and that character... he hates it with such passion he tore the whole half of his table sheet that had all those autographs walked outside and burned it in front of us.
Had a blast at the con he came to more so when he did the "voice actors panel" and it turned into a deranged version of Whose line is it anyway.

*nods and smiles* ya. i still remember one thing that he did. one of the Whose line is it moments was. "uses for R2-D2" and he walked up when everyone else was done looked around then turned around and made the sound of him unzipping his pants then groaning like chewie from Star wars before 'flushing' R2-d2 XD it was sooo good speaking the actor of Chewie was actually one of the guest sof honor too!

Ah well.

I really wasn't a fan of the redubbing of the entire series. (Atleast it sounded like a redubbing when I was rewatching episodes.)

Neither was I...accurate translations are fine and good, but I liked the original voice cast much better. Though the new Goku was pretty cool.
As for the Saiyan question; one, but he'll be distracted by something and waste twenty episodes dealing with that and ultimately forget about it.

I would like to, I go to an anime convention in may every year, but he only goes every other year and this year is the one he's sappose to be at but due to the fact that there was a TF con that had every voice actor from every series in he went to that one and might not go to the one I'm going to

SQUEE!!! It's my Scottie!!!
I've met Scott so many times...he pretty much EXPECTS to see me at the Toronto cons. And he expects me to show up with strange and unusual things. When I saw him back in March...it was a movie he was in called Sleeping With Strangers that he was in back in like...92 or 93 XD When I first met him he dubbed me his number one fan because of the shirt I had made which read "Property of Scott McNeil"...
Ahhh...the memories that I have of that amazingly awesome man.
I should go email him...I haven't emailed him in months.

Unfortunately, he rarely ventures into Indiana. Right pain, that.

Yeah he really is amazing. He said that he thought I'd make a good voice actor ^.^ He's really BAD at remembering named though, like you said he didn't remember your name. He told me that the first time he met me and I saw him like a million times that weekend and he was like "What's your name again?" each time. Second time I saw him he was like "GAH...I feel so horrible what's your name?" but the third time I met him he totally surprised me when he saw me and hugged me and was like "Hey Melissa!" I was like OMG...so ever since then he's remembered my name XD
Yeah I live in Toronto and he's almost ALWAYS there lol. I miss him though...he hasn't been out to Toronto since March this year T.T I miss him
But yeah anyway [link] I'm the one on the right in the "Property of Scott McNeil" shirt...my very first time meeting him on the Friday at the con, and then there's [link] from when my mom came to pick me up on Sunday. lol it was funny because I was fortunate that one of the other voice actors took me behind the table when he saw that I was upset at being cut out of Scotts line, and I ended up spending two hours with him talking to him and the fans. And when my mom called me to see what I was up to he grabbed my phone and had a chat with her and then hung up my phone telling me my mom was on my way to pick me up. And then when I went to go meet her as I was leaving he yelled after me telling me to bring her up.
*sigh* That was such an amazing weekend.
Anywho now for my shameless plug...XD

Dude! You got to meet him, I envy you! I've always loved that he did both Dinobot and Rattrap, because he'd have to argue with himself. Imagine how funny that would be to watch!
I didn't know he did Waspinator, but I did know he did the voice for Silverbolt. And I don't know many of the newer voice actors, except for Prime, Megs, and Screamer. And I know some people by their voices and not names.
Amazing variety of voices this guy can do, really. I can hardly manage a fake accent.

He's brilliant, no question. He's also nuts.
I remember while I was waiting for him to get done signing autographs on some toys that were going to be raffled off, he came across a Backstop figure. He clutched it protectively, looked at the convention guys, and said, "He's MINE!"
Needless to say, I was smiling the whole time.

He might. I don't think he's got anyone from the Unicron Trilogy, though; according to him, those shows weren't as fun as Beast Wars.
Admittedly, I agree with him.
