-------FULL VIEW PLEASE!--------Christmas is coming, and winter themed art is becoming ever so popular. Although here in Australia our Christmas time weather is actually Summer, i decided 'Bugger it! i like Winter better anyways
' and i made my contribution to the winter-themed art parade. This delightful addition to my gallery would not have come to be if not for the inspiration from my good friend Her winter themed art is truly amazing. it's full of character and that touch of magic that we have all come to familiarise with winter art. it is through viewing her amazing winter gallery that i got the motive and inspiration to create this. Description:
I was eager to create a magical winter themed art piece, but i was un-clear about a topic. One thought was in my mind though... 'What should i know about winter art? i've never seen snow before in my life...' and it was that thought that gave me this idea! The picture shows my character, Eclipse the Bat, sitting atop an ancient stone structure, viewing the snow as it falls from the sky. i decided this is how his first time viewing snow should be, in a mystical environment . Because it is his first time observing the beauty of snow, you will notice tears of joy coming from his eyes. If ever i myself were to see real snow, i believe this may be how i react. Yes i know, sometimes i'm a big softie
I made Eclipse using the same method i did with my 'Sword the Eagle Version 2' deviation. he was sketched in pencil, scanned, line-edited on the comp, coloured basically, then coloured with gradient highlights. The environment in this picture (yes, structure and all) was ENTIRELY made in Photoshop. Yes, Those snowflakes are my own work as well, they each don't take very long, and it was fun to make them (if u look closely, you will see that no 2 snowflakes in this picture are the same!). Eclipse himself is wearing a scarf and winter mittens for this picture. i just thought it would complement the picture's 'feeling' well to have him with some winter clothing. Well there you go people! I had loads of fun with this one, and i hope you all enjoy it!

Thankyou very much ^^ This is how you imagined him? that's interesting, i was under the impression i wasnt descriptive enough in our RP! Thankyou for your compliments on all aspects of the piece, this one although old, is still one of my personal favourites. I enjoyed the entire process of making this, from the drawing of Eclipse to making the scenery in Photoshop. Artwork usually does turn out better if you are enjoying making it. hehehe, yes the symbols on the side are a little extra touch that i felt just HAD to be there! oh my a fav! thanks!

Firstly, thank you tons for the nice things you said about my art there. That was nice of you, and I really appreciate it. I'm glad you dod make some winter-themed art. It really suits this time of year, I think, since some of the Christmas "trademarks" come from snow. ^_^
Anyhow, this is really cute! Eclipse looks pretty content watching the snow fall. I guess his first time seeing it was good. The spot he's found to watch it from is really nice. Very cool stone scenery, and I really like the runes on the side of it. I wonder what they say O.O
Nicely drawn and colored, and his Christmassy attire is so cool XD I like his seated pose. Very nicely put together, and it's pretty cheery, too, with the character's content smile and all.

yes, they are a slippery bunch.... to tell u the truth i dunno what those things say! i just drew 'em and said... "hey those are cool!" so i kept them! they could say 'Merry Christmas'... in some ancient.... ancient guy... language.... meh. thanks again Miles!

this is adroible!!! *hugs Eclipse* You have never seen snow before? aww *pets you* snow is the most beautiful thing. i used to live in a country like area in Wisconsin. there was some beautiful snow there. Anyway, back to the picture XD. This is adorible. Eclipse looks so darn cute. His lil' winter outfit is the best.especially those mittins. The red and green pattern on them is really cute.(those are my 2 favorite colors XD) The tears in his eyes are really well done. whenever i draw tears it looks really freaky XD. The way he sits there makes him look so inocent. And awsome job on that snow. The colors gives it a real winter effect. It's so pretty. I'm impressed.

Don't say that. you have an incredible amount of talent for your age. when i was your age, i could not draw as well as you. when you get to be my age you will be an amazing artist, i just know it. If u like drawing and if u keep drawing, u will become a wonderful artist. just you wait and see.

It's beauty came from my ideas, it's emotion from my soul. As i described, i have never seen snow, and thus my emotions were reflected into this picture. The softness in the snow was a simple effect really, but it's the simple touches that make art nice

thankyou so very much my friend! ^^ yes, i am aware that the background and characters are different in drawing style, but this is my unique style. i feel that they go together quite well. other pictures i will be drawing backgrounds, but for stuff like this, i feel it complements my art. and just look at Eclipse... anyways, glad ya like it! I had fun experimenting with effects on this one. i've discovered quite a bit about converting my drawings from paper to computer too, so much that from now on they will look as smooth as this one and my one 'Sword the eagle Version 2'. so yah, the comic will look quite smooth!

the closest i have seen to real life snow is refridgerator frost O.o that and snow on T.V, but never in real life. i think it turned out nice too, it actually wasn't too hard to make that snow. Eclipse's expression came naturally when i thought up the picture in the first place, i think his face is good for expression. Thankyou so much Sunsetfox!
