That's a great layout. The background and header fits perfectly, however I think that the main part is too clean for for such a theme...
That's my opinion, I only said that I don't think it is 100% suitable, but it's absolutely great looking

i think that's what makes it unique. the main part is very nice and it may not fit the sport but it pulls the whole composition together.
