Description The ECTO-4 appeared in the Real Ghostbusters comic published by Now Comics in the late 80's/early 90's (the same time the show was on). It first appeared in RGB#7 in 1988.

This small aircraft had VTOL capacity, giant parachutes to lower it in case of emergiencies, and could hold at least as many as six people (in RGB#11, it transports all four Ghostbusters as well as two other people.) The picture of Egon I put in it is intended to approximate it's scale.

It was also equipped with proton guns, but the real prize was the mobile version of the transdimensional warp drive. The drive was hideously expensive to build and operate, however, and in the comic was only used in two stories.

Idea was probably from RGB writer James Van Hise; the design changed some from issue to issue and artist to artist, but the first artist to depict it was John Tobias. The picture I've created is based on his drawings in RGB#7 and 10 (favoring #10 somewhat, as the depiction in that issue was slightly more detailed.)

The Ecto-4 is an excellent Ghostbuster vehicle. I think it would work better without its transdimensional warp drive, but it's still excellent.

ECTO-1: The original Ghostbuster car, a 1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor. Believed to have been retired after the purchase of the ECTO-1A in Ghostbusters 2

ECTO-1A: Same kind of car as ECTO-1; purchased in Ghostbusters 2. Believed to "really" be the ECTO-1 used in the seasons after GB2 and in EGB.

ECTO-2: A small helicopter, usually flown by Ray.

ECTO-3: In the cartoon, it was a motorized unicycle (I thought it was kinda lame). The toy was a go-kart with paddles(and also kind of lame)

I remember that from the comic, but I had forgotten what it looked like. Great putting Egon in there too.

There are actually two completely different ECTO-3s:

In the episode "The Joke's On Ray" the ECTO-3 was a motorized unicycle complete with sidecar for Slimer.

The Kenner toy line, meanwhile, introduced ECTO-3 as a go-cart with giant paddles.

About the only thing they had in common is that both kinda sucked.
