Description An acrylic painting of a tiger cub. I have been trying to practice my painting a little more the past few days. I discovered two main things, I need better paint brushes. And more practice.

I like the use of green vs orange in this one. It's a lovely combo of colors and makes the tiger pop.

This is pretty good. The chin and jaw are a bit oversized, but the rest looks quite superb.Β

Thank you, I really struggled with the proportions of the head. Those stripes really threw me off, as did its naturally more squarish jaw.

A thing to remember about tigers as their stripes always follow the form of the body, particularly on the head. I learned that from and his tutorials on drawing big cats. Another thing to remember is that the lower jaw of the tiger isn't all that thick. Only the chin has that bit of thickness because that's where the fur is.Β

Thank you for the tips! I will definitely keep them in mind! I don't typically draw cats because I have such a hard time getting their proportions correct.

Understandable. I have had hard times with that too. If you're interested, I can recommend some videos that might help with said proportions (one's mostly for lions, but it works for tigers too due to their similarities. only difference is the strips and slightly shorter nose on the tiger).Β
