I agree. Actually, I've read a fanfic about this. It's called Singed by TheStanfordExperiement. In my opinion, it's pretty good! The only ships that make sense with Elsa are either her with Jack Frost or an entirely new character.

I don't ship it, but I like looking at pictures (is that weird?). Though I have wondered why Jack is not the boy he is in Jelsa fanart.

Jack actually died while he was 17. Elsa is 21. The age gap is not as big as some people make it out to be in a relative sense, obviously in a literal sense it is. So they would both look close to the same age. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to explain a common misconception people have about their age gap.

Because I'm being asked to elaborate, I can only address this other part the way I feel:
I was going to say the age-gap argument, "is argued in a far too generalized way when people mention it, because people are trying to give more importance to how many years are in an age age [which isn't the argument regardless, since he's been dead for 300] rather than the gap between an adult and an adolescent (as opposed to two young adults and two kids), aka adult vs adolescent maturity," but now that I look back, I see you're applying it to the way they *look* side by side.Β
"So they would both look close to the same age."
And they don't.Β And it is incredibly obvious no matter the photoshop or size manipulation; painfully so. It's the first, if not the only thing, that kept me from "manipulating" any kind of romance, and is probably the first time I've really wanted to question people when they feel they do.Β
If "they look close to the same age" was the sweeping case, then the largest part of the Jelsa fanbase wouldn't feel the need to make him look older than he canonically does to "make them look right," and the artist of this picture said something to a similar effect as well.
So for me, teenaged Elsa x teenaged Jack. Adult Elsa x adolescent Jack manips look for what they actually are: "I look at those pictures and I see a young, teenage boy making out with a fully-grown woman and I get very confused. Very, very confused."Β

I think the reason pictures of them work is because people can put them at the same age, and since the art work is similar in style when it is fan-art it seems more plausible.Β I think the way they are built in the movies don't make them suitable, but that is what fan-fiction is for, you can do anything with fanfiction. lolΒ Also, in some ways I think they would both be more suited to characters who are based in fire. Since that creates a bigger clash and ultimately a bigger obstacle to overcome.Β However, I think people like the idea of them because they were both alone, and their magic was something that defined who they were quite a bit.Β

For me, I believe that's very much one of the reasons why I don't full out ship it for myself; if Jack's character has to be altered -- in circumstances where this at least can not be the case for a character --- they're not really suited as "themselves," so I can't really say I ship "them," (when it's not "them," so to speak). That's why I enjoy liking and looking at pictures, however. I guess it's my difference between liking and shipping, rather than disliking or etc, though I don't know if I'm explaining this right.
I've never thought of fire; I don't know why. 
I think people do as well, though more often than not, from an accidentally misinterpreted angle. Jack hated being alone; Elsa saw it as freedom. If anything, the former would be annoyed and boggled by the other's philosophy; it may not be the "straight away, no-conflict-having 'click'" people want, but it's more interesting.Β
