Got inspired by one of my favorite books, Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. It's the scene where Sorcha runs away after having delivered a baby to meet her brothers, who has been turned into swans by an evil sorceress.Although they're ducks, in this version. And she didn't really get to meet them in that scene. Hmm... or maybe it isn't really that scene at all, but it was the one I had in mind when I started. Heh.
Anyhow. I just wanted to use some of my own stocks too, so... ducks.
Feel free to dl it as wallpaper, it should be the right size for PC. Just don't alter it in any way, m'kay?

Uh that picture really makes me feel being in Ireland.
But I like the pic of Liadan more.. dunno why. Maybe because I'm reading now the Son of Shadows (Sohn der Schatten in german).

I totally fell in love with this picture and I joined deviant art just so I could fav it - yes really! Juliet Marillier is my alltime favorite author and I simply love the way you portrayed Sorcha in this scene(great scene, too).

I love this one, too. As a longtime fan of Juliet Marillier, I must say - this picture just fits. It doesn't look cheesy or have the modern-fakey feel that a lot of illustrations of fantasy/medieval ideas get. You are so talented

Aww... thank you, sweetie - I had to smile when I read your words; I often complain alot about fantasy book covers where it's obvious the artist has no relation to the story, and it just seem - as you say - fake. Sometimes because the picture is too smooth and science fiction-like, or because it seems too "staged" and the characters stiff, or because it clashes totally with my inner image. Yes... I'm hard to please

PS: I would love to see your version of Darragh (my personal favorite character (besides Fainne) from the trilogy) or some characters from her other novels - I bet you could make a great Criedhe from Foxmask, and I'm dying to see an illustration of Faolan from the Bridei Chronicles ^^

I'd love to make one of Liadan - she's my fav character besides Bran. I just haven't made up my mind yet on how I'm going to portray her - it was easy with Fainne and the mirror, Bran and his tattoos, Sorcha and the swans... er, ducks 
- once I'm done with my end of term exams <.<

Its an amazing photo manipulation, it looks so realistic.
Where the sky meets the trees its a bit choppy, but other than that its great.
