Those abs....
I have a question: what hair is that one?I have been struggling forever to find that hairstyle for my character, but they all have something that doesn't fit ( too short, too stiff, bad scalp morphing).
One humble suggestion ( feel free to send me to hell) : a little bit of DoF would be perfect to increase the atmosphere.
If you can get in Iray ( wich i have no knowledge of) or you can do it in photoshop ( or GIMP or whatever similar program you prefer). Just a suggestion, don't byte me.
I am not edible.

I actually did use DOF on this...... I struggle with DOF because I can never figure out how to make it "fuzzier" without just pushing it further away.... Getting the effect on things that are close behind my charcter, I just can't figure it out. Maybe I can ask Mavrosh, she has amazing control of things like that in DAZ.Β
Thank you for the input tho! It is always welcome, so few people will comment with constructive intent!
I love this hair, it has a lot of good posing morphs, i got it on Rendo, it's SAV Sonia. It also comes with morphs to make it crinkly too.

at this point it's me that needs a new pair of glasses. My apologies.
The DoF is tricky as hell though, i've manged to see the light with Octane after lmost two years of struggle, and i don't even venture anymore in the DAZ one.
That's why i've suggested to do it in postwork, the gaussian blur does wonders.
I've found the hair....fantastic!
If my muse wakes up i will be able to re create in 3D this old drawing of mine I rose.
that has been waiting forever due to the fact that i couldn't find the proper hair. The ones i normally use ( Mytsu hair) have the perfect shape, but as soon as i push the gale force buttons, they lift up, showing the horrible half cap.
And when i want a super smooth effect, they don't stay down.
Again you're saving my life with hair, thank you!

You have 2 alternatives:
1) Choose the blur tool ( the simbol in the palette of CS is a drop), then choose the size of the brush, set opacity and strenght, then, manually, like you're painting, blur the background, paying attention to the borders of your figure.
2) Render the background separately ( in this case pay attention where the shadows are falling), then when both the render are ready, you open photoshop, keep the background "under" the layer of the figure. Select the background layer, then go to filters-----blur-----gaussian blur. It will open a small window, that helps you to set how much blurred the picture will be, move the slide in one or the other direction, watchuing the preview. When the blur is done, click ok.
Now you'll have two images, one with the figure, the second in background. If you don't have nothing else you want to do on both, seimply save in JPG and you will have a one layered image. NOTE: save in .psd if you want to keep a copy to work with in a second stage, eg. if you change mind, if you want to re-work the pictures, etc., then , after, save in .jpg or .png
Those two methods are the ones i use the most, BUT....i am not great with photoshop ( no self pity, i don't like it, so i tend to avoid as much as i can), you may find several tutorials on dA as well. I hope i have been clear, if not, let me know, ok?

Sounds easier to render the background separately.... i will try this! Thank you so much

Indeed it is, but be very carefull about where the light is and where the shadows are projected, otherwise you'll have a very unpleasant effect, such as, making visible the artifact/fake DoF.
Unless your goal is creating a surreal/abstract illustration, in that case, who cares about the shadows?

haha, fah the shadows!... I suspect if I set the whole scene and render it to be sure it looks good, i could save it then remove the character and render it, then reopen the saved file and remove the background and render it again..... then I can layer the images in photoshop with the background adjusted with the blur. I think i will try it!

yep, that's the way.
Last suggestion: use the same camera, so you have the same angle.
Using an open environment ( mountains, (bloody) trees, columns/pillars) can be trickier than it seems. I made several mistekes about this specific point.
