It's so pretty!
I love crystal-filled ammonites. I have one that was made in to a pendant.

Fantastic shot! Ammonites are possibly my favorite fossil out there. I have six prints of them already hanging around my walls, and a hefty collection of the fossils themselves!
This is an excellent representation of their flawless design and variety of color!
Congrats on the DD!

I love it, at how a great macro can reveal unknown details and wonders...Also, it's a spectacular example of a natural fractal. I love the colours.

Very nice! I happen to be quite the collector of fossils and have taken pictures of ammonites too. One of my images is also of a Russian ammonite. They are quite beautiful.
This image might be better placed in the Geology category instead of the Nature category since it's a fossil - and thus a geological feature since it's now turned to stone over millions of years. You'll probably also get more interesting feedback there. Geology is the category where I've been putting all of my own fossil images.
Just a suggestion.

What a beautiful example of an ammonite! If it's small enough, you should turn it into some jewelry. (I'd love to get my hands on such a nice fossil!)

The description is spot on; when I first saw this, I thought it was the fractal DD for the day. Either way, it is gorgeous.

This is great!
Uhm... as the Nautilus, is the ammonite also related to the golden ratio?
