Description
A Bridge Of ProgressThe West Gate Bridge, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
The looming structure of the West Gate Bridge overshadows a tranquil, polluted spot of the natural world underneath it.
Is this what we call 'progress'?
Shot under the West Gate Bridge, from Stony Creek Backwash park, in the western suburbs of Melbourne at midday.
Polariser used.

The bright colours effectively contrast with the dark cloudy sky, really gives it a sinister kind of atmosphere... excellent photo

Hey hey, haven't seen your work your work for quite sometime. Welcome back.
Had you not stated that there is pollution in this picture, I wouldve said this was a beautiful picture. Its amazing how one could capture something really bad like pollution and make it look innocently perfect.

I love the dark tone of this. Nice and overcast and caught very well. The bridge leads the eye through the photo very well.
Lovely job!

Great colors, great composition. This photograph is just awesome. Especially the way the photograph is divided in two, nature below, man-made structures on top, just splendid. This is a great example of a photo which is divided in two by the horizon, which works! Great job. This deserves a and I might suggest it for a Daily Deviation.

Very deep, you can almost feel the gritty industrial air flowing in this. Loving the toxic sky as well!

there are weird light blue 'stains' on sky, it looks like it was badly used brushes
anyway, photo is good.
great contrast. it fits the 'atmosphere'.

I thort i recognised this bridge when i saw it as a thumbnail. Im actually from Greensborough way.
Great shot, the bridge looks sooo surreal up against the water and the plants.
