Description
Emerald CurrentMossman Gorge, Daintree National Rainforest Park, Tropical Queensland
Mossman Gorge really is an amazing and peaceful place - what you see here is what it looks like in real life. The river tumbles its way over and around large granite boulders that line the gorge, and crystal clear waters reflect the surrounding tropical rainforest, producing the intense saturation of colours in the water
Shooting here proved to be extremely difficult, as the conditions were pretty extreme - the rain kept hitting the lens and camera, humidity was about at 70% which kept fogging up the lens, it was close to 40 degrees celcius (104 Fahrenheit) and the lighting conditions changed every few minutes with the fast moving rain clouds exposing and hiding the sun. But i managed to get quite a few good shots. This is one of them.

I like the green in this shot. I also like how the current in the river gives a sense of motion. It makes you look across the whole picture. Great shot !!

Ahh wow, this is so very beautiful. I live in Queensland and I haven't even been there. But then again, I haven't been many places in Queensland and I've been here for 5 years. Anyway, I think you really captured the beautiful tropical rainforests we have here in Australia. What I love most about this is that you've captured so many variations of green and it takes up the most of the shot but you still have the odd different colour in there, especially with the rocks. Some lovely contrasts in the water. It almost doesn't even look like water with the way you've captured it. It looks a lot like thick moss.
Definately done a wonderful job capturing this. Well done

Beautiful. There's a very tropical, unspoilt look to the scene.

'and even in those conditions i managed to take a shot to amaze everybody' <-- you forgot to add that
i agree with the person above with the idea about the dark tree, at first look the tree didn't bother me but when i fullsized it, it kept on staring at it rather then the water...

amazing imagery... the lush green trees AND water are just so inviting and tempting... although the green-toned water does make you hesitate a little
a wonderful shot

Lovely cool greens, I know about the humidity business...I have to take my camera outside 1 hour before I use it to let it warm up after the aircon in the house. I wonder how long it'll last?

The blurriness of the water really caught my interest in this photograph; it almost looks like there's ice on the water, or as if the water were made of green jello. It's quite an interesting effect.
You got an amazing photograph, even in the disagreeable conditions. Great work!

wow
I'm sure you're happy that you faced the sucky conditions though because the photo came out beautiful.
Green is my favorite color for a photograph, I find it just takes control of other colors.
The over saturated look of the green in this is radient. The shot is just exploding with life.
Bravo

I definetly love this shot. You have very unique natural shots wich is why I always look at them. The green is amazing, it is my favourite colour Do you sell a lot of your work? It reminds me of the type of shots that would be in national geographic, in homes, and on postcards. Just amazing. You are very talented and lucky to be traveling and seeing these things.
Love, Libby
