He is. But the shape of Set's head in his depictions suggests a canid of some sort. Fact: Despite being the God of Famine and Chaos, Set is also the protector of Ra, the Sun God. Every night, as Ra sails his barge through the Underworld, Set stands at the prow, using his mystic spear to fight off Apep, the night serpent.
