One mind hates loveThe other adores it
One wants me to leave him and be alone
The other wants me to stay with him forever
I am finally stepping through the door
After over a year of waiting
I am breaking through
But saying good-bye to the first mind is hard
We've been friends for so long
He is calling me
I have to leave some things to the past

It's easier to be alone, safer. But as I'm sure you know it's sader, and emptier. I'm glad that you're able to take steps away from what's safe and toward what you really want. I've had the same experience, I really like this poem
