This is an awesome tutorial! But does it work with other markers instead of prisma's???

Very interesting technique! I've never really seen anyone add color before the inking, but I suppose it's the best way to keep colors inside the lines. XD Great job!

Yeah, it does keep colors inside the lines. XD Only problem is my pencil sketch is usually sloppy so I have to clean it up [stray pencil marks] quite a bit after scanning. Yay for blemish removal.

w00t Loved the tutorial. And I'll have to buy Light Walnut X3 I was looking for a good color to shade skin instead of continuously adding strokes of eggshell.
Will fave the whole "Cloud Mirror" series X3 the sketch, tutorial, and final image~ Great job ^^

Oooh, helpful! Though I ink first, mainly because I'm so paranoid that I"ll mess up that I ink, then color a copy. At least it doesn't bleed. O_o
Light Walnut, yay! I've been looking for a good color to use with Light Peach; I could only find Sand, which doesn't match all that nicely.

I used to use Sand. Light Walnut's a bit lighter and mixes in better.

Ooh, this helps, and I think I'll try coloring before I ink. Now I just need another skin Prisma...or I could steal my friend's eggshell...
Anyway, very nice tutorial! ^_^

Rockingness >3 I'll have to give my mom's markers another spin sometime. XD Thanks so much for the awesome tut! It's also interesting to see how you do it... I wouldn't have thought of inking after coloring.

Very nice!
I tend to Ink BEFORE I color, seeing as I would trace my drawing with Ink on another piece of paper and color the inked copy.,

It bleeds, so I do it this way. *shrugs* But a lot of people do it that way.

Bleeding is a problem, but I normally just use a bleed sheet underneath, and try to color away from the edges.

No, no, I know that (I do that too), but I meant the pens I ink with are just cheap pens, and the markers will make the pen ink bleed.

DJ-Sai In reply to ellana [2006-12-04 23:56:49 +0000 UTC]
Cheap or not, any marker and pen WILL bleed. It's just best to get used to it rather then fight it.

But then the lines get thick and disgusting. I'll stick to my way and be different, or get waterproof pens.
