"Everytime im on the internet ive got this feeling im always Late, late for everything, its like the net its on a pace i cant follow, always moving, always leaving me behind, and with each refresh life goes by, arent we all just a rabbit looking at a mirror?".
Personal piece that decided to finish, to get rid of this ansiety, lot of meanings behind it, even the binary code, done in corel painter X3-

This piece combines my favorite elements of modern art I'm always thrilled to see combined - digital painting, unorthodox manga styles, and psycho-spiritual symbolism!
Β "Mirrored Refresh" illustrates a psychological condition of dependency on digital technology that many of us struggle with to varying degrees. Β As a long-time gamer whose been addressing his addiction this past few years, I feel that art which depicts this struggle is vital in order for us to get a handle on our spiritual state and confirm what it is we're doing to ourselves.
The colors in this piece are well chosen - dark, cool shades indicate an interior lifestyle away from the sunlight, with the bright blue of a digital monitor "off-screen" highlighting a beastial skeleton mask which denotes her self-slavery. Β She's clearly plugged herself into this monstrous machine which is playfully adorned with a childish glow-in-the-dark star, but also a more sinister blood-red rune on its forehead, hinting at more questionable sorceries. Β
The skull-mask's eye glows bright blue like the monitor, and appears far more conscious than the girl herself, as if feeding on her mind. Β It grows out of the ceiling which implies that it's a permanent fixture of the room, and her life, difficult to remove or avoid. Β A golden analog clock dangles, forgotten, behind her head - she clearly can't keep track of "real" time while plugged into the machine.
My favorite symbol in the piece is the interwoven USB cables which form a noose around the girl's neck. Β This denotes an act of subconscious self-destruction, yet we can see that the noose is placed very loosely about her delicate neck, so she may remove it at any time... if only she had the will to do so. Β It's one of my favorite symbols that's also present on the traditional major arcana keys of the Devil, which also describes spiritual states of self-limitation.

That description sums up how I feel about the internet too - you always feel like you're missing something so you try to keep up, when really you're just wasting time with each refresh of the screen. XD Great use of symbolism, the reflection in the clock looks amazing and I love the detail in the skull.

zaz para que hagas un tutorial de digital watercolor que yo me doy de topes y no se usarla. me desespera un poquito que no se ve como quisiera

uso solo la brocha de water color, pero la cambio a cover mode, viene en general, de watercolor para sombras uso la simple waterbrush, y en layers hay una opcion para secar el digital watercolor, ya seco en modo cover puedo difuminar con difuminos regulares.

Quick Feedback: I notice her neck seems kind of longΒ Β the mask wrapped around it kind of hides that though, but it's still pretty long, this is a pretty common problem for artists (making necks too long that is) necks aren't that long really.

kind of sounds like a metaphor about time moving forward, i agree after you're 20 days seem to move faster. you keep rocking "compadre" (did i say it right?) and remember why you started doing this. it helps me maybe it will help you. Β
