Description
A Scissored-Tail Fly Catcher, that was kind enough to let me photograph it.Related content

First of all, let me start by saying that I've already fallen head-over-heels in love with ALL of your photography. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

(Big Grin)"/> Anyway, I have always loved scissor-tailed fly catchers; they are such graceful birds, and their namesake tail is so gorgeous. Now as for the photo itself...the way that the background is completely blurred makes the flycatcher snap sharply into focus, yet the tall grass in the foreground gives the vision of the bird veering away from you and leaving you far behind. The rusty fence pole is quite interesting...adds a bit of human life into the picture.

The watermark detracts from it somewhat, but I myself know the importance of keeping your artwork from getting stolen, so I'm not all that bothered by it; it shows that you're such a great photographer that you need to ensure that no one tries to steal your stuff.

Thank you so very much for the critique. I truly appreciate it. Thank you for remarking that I have an exceptional talent. About a year ago, I had a cheap camera and posted a few photos on here for fun. Christmas of 2012 my husband gifted me with a canon camera. I was thrilled with the camera, yet very intimidated by it. I have never taken a class in photography, I had no idea how to use the camera properly and I still do not, but that's okay. I do not want to master it. I feel the day I master it will be the day the thrill will disappear. I am learning my art through trial and error and enjoying every moment. This artform keeps me sane and in touch with nature. Thank you so very much for taking the time to post a critique, you will never know how much it truly means to me.
With much appreciation,
Beth

I've never had photography lessons, either; I received my Canon camera as a 2012 Christmas gift too, from my dad. I agree that the thrill would be lost if we knew everything there is to know. You're welcome; I don't often write critiques, but when I do, I always make sure that they're straight from the heart.

A bird in flight is worth 2 in the hand is worth 4 in the bush.
