Description EDIT: It seems I made Assassins legs a little awkward, so I changed them a little

I can't believe I'm done, this seemed so overwhelming when I started with it. But know X hours later, it IS done! I'm actually pleased with myself. Though the background is nothing special and mostly made with brushes (home-made grass brush. Tanks to for hedge-brushes) I really like the horses.

Here followes backgound stories for my OCs Assassin and Oblivion: (be warned, it's quite long)

ASSASSIN:
Assassin’s life started a rainy Friday morning. His mother was a very handsome bay with shiny coat. The wild running stallion that was his father was never seen or heard of again. The first days of the colt’s life were very calm and safe in the gentle care of his mother. That was however all too quickly about to change.
When the colt was one week old a terrible thunderstorm ravaged the area. Trees fell and set fire, putting the herd of mares in panic. Assassins’ mother was killed by one such falling tree and he was left alone in the world. The colt would surely have died too, was it not for a young man on a mission. He found the little black colt with the strange silver-like mane stumbling forth in the burning forest.
The young man showed to be part of the Assassin Order and the foal was thereby baptised Assassin. Assassin was properly cared for by assassins not currently on mission and later broken and trained to serve the orders purposes. As a three year old he was branded on the forehead with the Assassin Seal. White hairs grew up where the branding iron had toughed and Assassin’s characteristic marking was made.
Assassin proved very clever, swift and strong in both mind and body. But the trauma he had suffered as a foal made him suspicious and he had difficulties to trust strangers. To the assassins, though, he was the perfect steed and he aided them in bringing death and saving lives. His lack of fear proved to be his and the assassins’ enemies worst nightmare. He would gallop right through armed blockades leaving to his rider to deal with the templars. His very strong hind legs also made him an excellent jumper which saved him and his rider many times during the years of servitude.
The day came then, when Assassin’s time with the order was over. When the leader of the order, the young man who once found Assassin, was killed and fell off his back during an attack, Assassin completely stopped trusting the other members of the order. Some of them thought Assassin’s strong bound to their former leader brought even greater grief with it, while others claimed the horse was just crazy, a demon in a horse’s body. If there’s any truth in any of the theories remains unknown to this day.
That was, however, Assassin’s end of servitude. When becoming more and more aggressive the assassins decided to release him. The stallion reared and was free. Like a black flash he disappeared, bucking and neighing across the field.
Eventually Assassin met Oblivion and they’ve stayed together ever since.

OBLIVION:
This mare’s origin and story has mostly fallen into oblivion, which would make her name rather suitable. The first record of her is from a small desert village in Arabia. According to her owner at the time she was brought there by nomads and sold very cheap for unknown reasons (though there is a theory that the nomads were afraid of her due to the diabolic marking on her forehead). In this village the mare was broken and proved to be perfect for the great endurance races as she possessed both stamina and speed. Rumour says she won the yearly Desert Race, held by one of the most powerful sheiks, as many as five times, though this statement is unverified.
The mare was later stolen from her owner and was used in raiding very successfully. People spoke of her as Fajera, the wicked one, that attacked their camps. What became of the mare after this has been very hard to find out. In some way though, she ended up running wild at the edge of the desert and was soon found in poor shape by a group of travellers. They mended her and brought her with them to their homeland, or would have if they had not been attacked by a group of Bedouins. The mare was once again stolen, but she soon proved to be very hard to handle and managed to escape.
No further writings from this time can be found about the mare though it is said she eventually ended up in South Western Europe. How she got there remains a mystery.

In time Oblivion found the stallion Assassin and has accompanied him ever since.

No, I do not. Not yet anyway.

a) because I haven't really found any great symbol for marking and b) because the horses in Oblivion are that much prettier

Perhaps the Storm Cloak emblem? I think it would go well on a bay war horse. Considering Skyrim is home of the Nords? I know i'm a bit late, but I love this picture, it is gorgeous.

You can use the Skyrim Emblem.

I really think that one's too complicated to make a good marking for a horse, that amount of detail could not like naturally in fur.

Well, that's just d@mn bloody IMPRESSIVE. The horses are stunning and you really captured their Arabian personalities. And your stories for them are quite epic, indeed. ^^

I have to say, I sure would love to show these two as a team. ^^
