Union Interstellar Development Dept.:

The Union Interstellar Development Department is tasked with the work to do with foreign development, including charities or investments the Union has with other empires. These could be in the forms of joint corporations or projects or even just charity work where the Union will help civilians of that race or nation reach a good level of lifestyle. This department will always seek to do such work even in contested territories and it is referred to as the 'Space Red Cross' operating very closely with the Health and Welfare department to run hospital ships and missions.

Sub Departments:

Foreign Aid Department: The Foreign aid department works with Union health branches and the military to bring aid not to the Unions own forces but to those natives or neutrals who have been affected, or working in another empires territory to help civilians live in quality conditions. They will often overlook laws or boundaries to do their work and are deemed to be protected under the Aid act which forbids aid convoys or people from being attacked in a warzone. If however they are attacked the Union military will respond in force, to attack aid is a incredible insult to the Union and will be dealt with swiftly. After all the Union sees peace and prosperity for all as a cause worth pursuing and will continue to do so with this department leading at the forefront.

Foreign Investments Department: This department specialises in overseeing and instigating foreign investments, either in material companies in other empires or with joint corporations between the empires. This is mostly military orientated leading to joint developments which are run by a sub department. However joint civilian companies are done too perhaps to allow the Union to help develop such empires medical technology or the other way around. All of which is linked heavily to the diplomatic corps.

Foreign Project Department: This sub department works with the other empires to create foreign projects whether they are civilian or military in application, helping divert resources and personnel to help complete such. Although the military or particular civilian department are heavily involved its this department that oversees and orchestrates the whole thing with the other empires equivalent and due to the number of allies and joint projects such a department is very busy indeed.
