Description
Here is the work so far on my death rig, kitbashed from a 1/32 Revell Snap Tite Freightliner model. Featuring kitbashed, scratch built and resin details. This model has taken me a ton of time/work to get to this point, as the base model was very very crappy. While I knew the model would be bad and prime for a bash I had no clue how bad it really was till I went to build it. Nothing fit at all and most of the parts included with the kit were incredibly warped. It has some of the cheapest and crappiest plastic i have ever seen on a kit. a A lot of time was taken just to build a new frame and even get to look like a truck. This build had me soooo freaking mad and frustrated I had to take a few weeks off from it but this week I finally made the final push. While something’s could be better I am pretty happy with the overall look concerting the pile of trash the base model was.
This monster is being built for so I didn't want to half ass it (if it was for me, it would have already been hammer time) I wanted to make sure he got something I would be happy to have in my own display. I think it was good that I gave myself sometime to re-group and gather up the courage to finally finish the build. I got a few more odds/ends and some fixes to do, but over the weekend I’ll be getting this beast primed and ready for paint. It will be painted in my standard raider colors and hopefully I’ll be done with this rolling nightmare by next weekend.
As always questions, comments and suggestions welcome.

Cool! I also enjoyed the crazy characters and constant car combat and action, lots of fun. The guy playing the guitar on the front of the vehicle was hilarious. I'm pretty sure a sequel is being planned as this did very well in theaters. Glad you were able to check it out!
This Death Rig should be even more wicked with the paint work completed.

Cool, looking forward to seeing your finished piece soon.
Mad Max Road Fury was something, agreed. Hopefully Mad Max the game on PS4 this September will recapture some of the thrills from the movie.

i really like how straight forward the plot was, no unnecessary b.s we see in to many action movies now. the action was so freaking awesome, i hope we see more of this in future movies.

i saw some people saying it was a bad movie, i guess they prefer 50shades of grey lol
even the younger generations liked it sure it was cheesey but its the right kind of cheese
i was hoping max would something brutal with that annoying guitar man infront of the truck
though annoying he added a different flavor to the whole story. i feel the movie was too short
i hope next time they include the midget and giant characters if you remember them in thunder dome im
not sure now its a long time ago.
are you going to make a madmax themed project next?

yea i have heard a few that didn't like it but overall it got great reviews and pretty much exactly what i wanted in a madmax film. think the people that really didn't like it, have never seen a mad max movie before.
well once this badboy is done, ill be doing a kitbashed tank. maybe less madmax and more fallout.

ohhh yea i do, thanks for reminding me, as this will not be in my hands long once i finish it. gonna have to find a spot on my lawn to convert to a wasteland(sure the wife will love that lol) as the amount of raider rides is getting to big for my indoor photo booth XD

to be sure: it is what fishermen used to say, if you say perfect weather, no storm in the air everything will go smoothly from now on, they would say to hold wood to be sure nothing bad happens..

That's a really great setup there, if it was in my scale I'd love to have it myself! xD
Bummer that the base kit was so bad, but at least with a dirty raider vehicle you don't have to make everything super clean and accurate, just like with orc stuff or other parties that make useful and not pretty things.

thanks friend, good to hear that all the work on this might pay off.
yea the kit was 10x worse than i had expected. ohhhhh it would of never got finished if it had to be a clean showroom rig.

Hearing how crappy the kit was just shows your skills, (you can not tell its a shit kit) realy looking forward to seeing it get painted and fucked up and see the monster that it will be. Still am very hopeful to get this baby.

yea i was grumbling under my breath the whole build, as i knew the real work would never show. hopefully the painting will be a lot less troubles and i am looking forward to it.
this baby is already spoken for, but i can build something just for you if you would like. just keep in mind it will be a few months till i get to it, as i have projects for people piling up XD

Sad to hear this is going to some one else but happy for the lucky SOB! I would love to have a piece f you art dont mind waiting as long it is a give away (sorry no money). I would exscecialy love a Zoids custom if you have one around or fancy doing a new one.

enc86 In reply to VijayVega [2015-06-07 02:44:38 +0000 UTC]
ahhhh good to hear, yea i wouldn't mind building something for you, even for free! most the fun i get is from the build/paint/photos, not the project just sitting around. you would be surprised(or maybe you wouldn't lol) of how many projects have just got bashed down because i don't have room to display them all.
ill keep my eye out for zoids but the only problems with them, is the kit are usually $$$$. anywho if your patience i am sure ill find something and build you something awesome regardless.

That really has made my day thank you (it's good to know there descent people around).
Sad to hear that you have to bash down some of your work, hope you at least get to re-use the parts in other projects. If not please dont destroy them and send them to me instead (I just won't tell the wife just yet) and I'll put them on display.
No problem waiting at all Would love a piece designed and made by yourself.
I have got a few zoids and a zoids bash in the works that can be seen on my paige. Have no problem (would love to see where you take it) sending you the bash. I also have and a Geno Saurer zoids thats missing a tail (like to see you add something cool to it) if yould like to finish kitting and painting them.

you are welcome dude! i am sure ill have fun with whatever i build you and you will enjoy it so really its a win/win for me.
i re-use everything that gets bashed down. really its good, as i have an endless stash of parts and junk to work with. plus i know that the next time i use the parts/hull or whatever, ill make it much cooler with my improved skills. i tend to keep the projects that i really nailed or the ones that cost a bit intact but alot of the cheaper kits i have no qualms about breaking down for parts.
ahhh cool dude! looks like you are off to a great start!
hummm ill think about it, tho it really might be hard for me to re-build a tail. plus with zoids/gundams ect i like to work fresh as the painting process is a bit different on them for me. ill keep it in the back of my mind tho, and try to think yup some crafty ideas.....

Thank you again looking forward to what you make me. I'll tinker away at my zoids any ideas will be cool. Very happy to hear you re-use your parts, i'd hate to think of your work getting trashed!
Would yo have any ideas on a cheap kit (large scale preferably 1/6) to make a retro sci-fi type car/bike? or if at all possible if you have any parts you wouldn't mind donating?
Sorry I seem to be asking a lot but your work does really excite me.

anytime dude, no need to thank, it will be fun for me.
yea i try to re-use alot of stuff. cuts down on costs and if i can re-build something better i will!
hummmm ill dig around but that scale really is not something i have on hand....i would look around at thrift stores/yard sales/ebay ect for some really cheap toys that could be bashed as models in those scales are quite $$$$.
