You can actually tell their sex based on horn direction (i think). I looked it up once, but i forget and am too lazy to go look now. I will if you ask though. Pretty sure it's kinda subtle and would be hard to pay attention during a fight, but i thought it was interesting when i read it. Correct me if i am wrong. I do remember reaing their pack behavior has an alpha male hierarchy.

That's New Vegas's deathclaw packs though, 4 has entirely different deathclaws which don't have any specific male or female tag assigned other than the Matriarch tier

The wiki didn't say that, I thought it's supposed to be a regular rule of thumb as it described them in general before their roles in each game individually. I know wiki can't always be trusted, but it's the best i have to go by currently haha.

Ah, it's the Wasteland Whisperer perk, it needs 9 charisma to unlock, but you can pacify most things, even mutants/behemoths and ghouls. It's more fun than helpful since you need your weapon out all the time and no power armor, but having a deathclaw follow you around is really cool w @

Oh, the Furious Lesbians part comes from when the character pacifies them, and they say 'Whoa now girl, it's aaall right'. It's probably not supposed to be serious but I like to think that all deathclaws are therefore female.

I haven't played the game yet, but I do loving these new Deathclaws design. They just look really amazing! The Deathclaws from Fallout 3 were okay and even scary.Β
There a quest you can do that you have to get Deathclaw egg from abandoned building and return it to the Deathclaw mother nest, and the Deathclaw mother will not attack you and instead she give you a special prize.
Are good. Are you going draw more Deathclaws?Β

If you watch a passive deathclaw it will flick its tongue in and out like a snake, they're so wonderful!
That quest is one of my favourites, the deathclaw mother is so precious.
I want to draw many more deathclaws! They're so fun to do.

Honestly I hate killing Deathclaw in Fallout 4, and yes you have to defend yourself if they attack you. But really, their just animals, and if one do attack me I make it quick and painless, while for human that want to kill me, oh I make them suffer with my Deathclaw Gauntlet xD
It may be rare to some people, but if you're lucky you may find two Deathclaw fighting each for territory and one will walk away if loses Β (kinda like two male lions). Pretty freaking amazing too.

when you go to pacify, (I havent tried with male character) the female character will refer to every deathclaw as a girl, so that's what I'm going with
in Vegas there's the Alpha Male, yes, but in 4 the alpha deathclaw is just a higher level than regular ones.
