Description
This is the final version of Flash in His off Time Part 2!I really like how this one came out. Not quit where I want to be in total but I am fine being here for my traditional media. Anyway it is Flash and Trey sitting in a restaurant, eating....COOKIES!!! Someone gave me the idea of drawing a couple in a retro diner. so I changed it into Flash and Trey sitting in a restaurant.

Greetings!
I clicked on this work because I thought it was very interesting of you to draw two people in a full setting. I thought to myself, "how daring for your to draw every seat, the table, the windows, everything." I must applaud you for that because I can say it's probably not something I would do and most people wouldn't, so bravo on following through all the way!
The biggest thing I think you could do to improve this work is try to work out why they look so rigid. I think your character Flash is somewhat of a cyborg (Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the impression I get looking through your gallery), so I suppose this is OK as long as you want him to be very rigid looking. The main reason they look so rigid is because there is no arch to their backs, really. We sit naturally curved a little, and even when we stand straight up, our spines actually curve concavely, so there will always be a bit of an arch and not just a flat back.
Another thing you might want to consider is where the neck is placed anatomically. You have their necks coming out directly on top of their shoulders. Take a look at any t-shirt you may own. When you lay it flat, you'll notice that the neck of the t-shirt (the big hole opening) is entirely visible on the shirt. That's because the neck actually comes out a bit forward on the chest. This will also help improve your rigidity of these characters.
I really like your exploratory use of your colors and shading. I think you should dive right into them and maybe even try going a little darker, or try adding a little bit of blue hues in the white shadows so they are not so black and white.
I think you will find if you look at some anatomical reference, or even some great figure drawing books like "Figure Drawing for all it's worth" by Andrew Loomis you can learn a lot. Remember, it's all in practice and drawing every day. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thankyou for posting this. This is the first critic I've gotten. I agree with you 100 percent, and just looked at a T-shirt.
Some of the rigidity I have worked out a little bit in some of my later drawings, though my anatomy still needs work. in fact it is what I am working on now.
He is kinda a cyborg, it really is just the computer on his arm, but with the rigidity I see how it would make him look like a cyborg. I will look into that book and see what I can find.
I thank you for taking the time to do this, I wish more people would, it is very helpful!

Hey no problem! I am a bit cut and dry but I hoped my critique was more helpful than harmful.
If you can afford figure drawing classes (or can get people to pose for you for free) they do absolute wonders for your artistic ability to draw figures fluidly.

It was don't worry, any time someone can be cut and dry I am in debt. It is more helpful (to me at least)
I found a very good website that I'm gonna try.
