The other day, I was outside with the kids and Yolanda, the head teacher in that class, brought out a huge bucket of chalk. Crayola sidewalk chalk to be exact. And it had soo many colors! Where were these colors when I was two feet tall scribbling squiggles on the daycare sidewalk?!

I've never been very good with messy mediums, but the kids were having so much fun (rolling around on the ground and getting chalk all over their clothes and skin) that I felt my childhood beckoning me to pick up a piece and start scribbling.

Those of you that know me, and have sat down and watched me go into one of my drawing moods, know for a fact that I do not just scribble. By the end of it, it is a full fledged masterpiece complete with vibrant, captivating colors (shading when colors are not readily available) and are completely perfect in EVERY way and you want to kill me for my talent!!! (Haha... Yeah right... Because you can totally acquire someone's talent by killing them... If that was the case I would have killed half of dA by now...)

I noticed that there were like seven shades of blue with the crayola chalks... (Where were my seven shades blue, Crayola?!) So I kind of defaulted to drawing a water/beach scene, just so I could get a feel of the different shades. Then I went digging through the box and before I was done I had made this pretty little beach scene that is about the size of a food tray from What-A-Burger. So it's pretty small actually.

I also managed to run inside and grab my camera and run back outside and take a picture of it before the kids trampled all over it. Or like Ethan, rolled on top of it because he wanted to be pretty too.
