^_^ Thanks, his name was created back in the days of keyboard-smashing to find names. And it is a nice outfit. I'll have to reuse it for a more current character.

I've never done that, I usually come up with my characters last names, but their first names are already existing names.
That could be part of why I can never decide names for mine though? >.<

Well, now I have a spiffy book of baby names that I flip through to find meanings of certain names, or I'll go to babynames.com and type in a meaning or national and it'll give a list of names I can use. But back in the day I would just "afhsulfebjklvb aejkv" and look through the letters and be like "Fashul" or "Jekah" or "Jaek" or "Sulah" and that's how I would come up with names. But a lot of the time, my names would look to similar to each other, or I would misspell the name and wind up likely the typo spelling better than the original spelling. That actually happened to a recent character, whose original name was Vin, but I misspelled it as "Vihn" and fell in love with it, so I kept it that way.

I sometimes remember to go and use the internet, but I am forgetful

I guess I kinda do that in my head? when it comes to last names anyway, they arent easy to come up with, but I also have a notebook I right different first names I like, and last names I could use eventually.

[link] <-- this is the book I use and it has always come in handy. I think I've had it of upwards of six years now. It was more expensive in the store, but Amazon has amazing deals. I've kind of become addicted to Amazon in the past week... They also have an e-reader version for the Kindle, that's only 8.99, but if you can buy a hardcopy, you actually make notes in it and abuse the crap out of it with sticky notes.

I have lists and lists and lists of names - not just for people - but for places (towns, cities, countries, worlds, etc.). I've actually been getting a few of my names from work, lately. I work in the office of deli/gift store and more often than not I'll come across a vendor's name or a customer's name that just flows so well and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, that I just have to save it.
