it is lacking a bit of detail towards the front (but i could be wrong i cant remember if there is much detail there)
its a good render, what program(s) were used?

The engines glow red, so you know it's evil! haha!
But really, this is a great render - I love the glow cast by the engines on the aft section of the ship - it makes it seem somewhat darker.

Just imagine is the Star Forge was not destroyed and Palpatine got his hands on it.
He would mass produce this ship and...would use those Super Star Destroyers to rule the galaxy forever.

I will worship the Executor as soon as they make it less easy to destroy. I mean... take out the bridge, and the ship dies? come on. Even the comparably tiny TOS Enterprise had an auxiliary control room.
The Executor should have five auxiliary bridges at least - and at least two of those deep inside its structure, so no suicidal A-Wing can get to it.

Although I really love this picture and the design of the Executor, I totally agree with you. This ship is designed to participate in huge battles, melting enemy fleets to the core of their very existence while being able to withstand extreme (read: EXTREME!!!!!!!) damage at the same time. Of course it'd be nice for the crew on the bridge to see what's happening out there, but hey - when someone is able to build a monstrous weapon like this, there'd be no problem to make the bridge's walls like monitors, showing pictures that are taken by cameras from a higher position on the ship...
Also, what I really didn't like about the Executor (or every other capital ship in Star Wars, Star Trek, and almost any other sci-fi movie, game or book), was it's weaponry... I can see absolutely no sense in building a huge ship, but giving it only one or two dozen weapon banks... That may work for Star Trek's federation ships, but definitely not for a warship like this one... If you can create enough energy to move this thing, you can damn well create enough energy to equip it proberly!
However, EE, great rendering!

I'm not sure about the one or two dozen weapon banks thing. The Executor had guns frakking EVERYWHERE. At least five in that single shot with the X and A wings in its city skyline-like surface. Multiply that by, how many square km on its top surface alone? Not to mention, a greater concentration of turrets and canons along the edges.
A good example would be Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II for Gamecube. There are several times when you fight a Star Destroyer, and you get a good idea of just how many things are shooting at you. Four heavy Ion canons on either side, and so many frakking turbolasers. A dozen on the bridge tower, two or three dozen across the top surface, another two dozen on the lower surface. And this is a normal Star Destroyer. I shudder to think just what kind of crap the Executor has.

Ah, I still have the Executor from X-Wing Alliance (great game) in mind, where you were able to select every single cannon on capital ships - three, maybe four minutes, and that damn thing was unable to do anything besides hoping to collide with your ship
And yes, I remember the shot. But still, these turbolasers are hardly able to take the fight to the enemy if it comes to capital ship battles... The term "turbo" says it all - lower energy, but a faster firing rate. Excellent against fighters like the A- and X-Wing (although, we've seen it in Star Wars VI, not enough), but if you'd have to take down a giant, would you really trust in the little needle you can stick in his feet time and time again? Or would you rather have a couple of big spears you can throw at him? If you train your crew, they can take down enemy fighters with the big turrets as well
I like to compare this to sea battles during the 18th and early 19th century... 1st and 2nd class liners equipped with cannons over cannons over cannons on each side, firing broadside after broadside to the enemy... Nowhere to run This [link] shows exactly what I want space battles to look like

Well, different games show different things. I'd like to think the actual ship would have more turrets than that. It was hard as hell to disable a Star Destroyer turret-by-turret in Rogue Squadron.
I guess X-Wing Alliance toned it down to make the game easier (or at least possible). I remember having that same problem/question with Descent:Freespace. Capital ships were just too damned easy to disable with just a fighter. Thankfully they fixed that on Freespace 2.

Sweet model, are the small surface details modeled or normal/parallax mapped?

it is simple old fashioned bump map. The model was made when HW2 was a state-of-the art game engine.

Now that's a ship. Though I always wondered about the crew that had to work in the compartments in back of the engines....

ez nem star trek hajó. Ez az Executor osztályú szupercsillagromboló és a Star Wars univerzumból származik.
