Doesn't it just drive you nuts when Spock fanboys try to act like Spock, and fail miserably at it with logic fail? In high school, I had this friend. He was a lot like Spock. He was logical. Me? I was a lot like McCoy. You know how that goes. We sparred. A lot. Especially during lunch. It was... fascinating. I know what it is like to argue with a true Spock. I know what it is to be a pretty genuine Bones. And when I run into some punk who isn't Spock enough for me, I just want to grind him into the floor.....................
I run into SO MANY wanna-be Spocks on the internet. Some of them don't even realize they're wanna-be Spocks (as in they're not into Star Trek). But they're wanna-be robots, or some crap, where they try to be all logic and no emotion, but end up tripping over logic anyway, so they just end up failing at both being a computer and a human being.
I was inspired to put this macro together by someone who was truly Spocktarded.
This might violate Deviant Art's rules. Star Trek images are iffy. Depending on the resolution and such, they can be considered creative commons or whatever... it's hard to say and I don't know the official rules on it. x( So if this is taken down, I'll understand.

I happen to have a friend who's exactly like Kirk, and in my opinion more like the younger Kirk from the new movies. and even though the differences are small, they are there. I guess its just the youth.
Anyways, her and a few of her friends (she isn't actually a star trek fan and I wasn't until recently but her friends are) are now calling me 'Spock'. now that i watch the series and i know what he's like i take it as a complament.

I want a Spock! Or a McCoy! You're pretty lucky to have that friend from high school.

Dude. I saw an episode of Operation Repo where they caught him dressed up like Spock, and he actually tried to talk to them like he was Spock. Then broke down crying like a minute later.
I was all like DUDE YOU'RE A HORRIBLE SPOCK STOP IT.
Also, "Spocktarded" is my new favorite word.

OH FUCK. I know a person kind of like this. He even describes himself as a "cold emotionless robot" and tries to act smug about it. Then he says the most inane bullshit ever. RAAAGE.
As far as I know, he isn't a Star Trek fan either. Just a pretentious asshole. -_-

That's so annoying. He's not emotionless if he's going to use an artistic and metaphorical description to label himself. He's full of it.
I have a friend who -IS- genuinely like Spock. He is not into Star Trek. He likes it "alright." But he considers entertainment... illogical. And he means that. He does admit that it is productive for emotional people though. I swear, if he had pointed ears...

I practise stoisism and my creed is 'logic before emotion, science above superstition and art above all'.
I am obsessed with the pursuit of harmony of body and mind and I medidate among other things.
So before I even watched Star Trek I exhibited Vulcan-like behaviour, it was only natural that I gravitated towards them when I did get into the series.
Hopefully I don't come acrosss as a wannabe, but I have met some people, especially on the Internet who try to be all knowing and reasonable but only come across as obnoxiously dogmatic. Part of being a Vulcan is evaluating the situation from all points of view.

People who so strongly aspire to be Vulcan often do not really understand what it is to be Vulcan. What makes Vulcans so interesting is that they do have emotions but exist within a culture where emotions are so shameful that they are not to be expressed. This is shown clearly even with Spock and Sarek's relationship in the original series, as well as Spock's experiences on Vulcan during pon farr.

Which I always found fascinating, it's like alot of things in our culture that are perfectly natural yet we never talk about it openly.

I would think Spock would find it interesting, and not fascinating, because it while it is worth noting, it is not unexpected.
