(And as for the space operas...huh, didn't think of it that way. I once found a rather awesome one where a damaged starship crashes into Equis, and is reverse engineered and sets off into the stars. It's even an international/inter-species effort: the crew includes Luna, the Mane Six, a griffin, and even some Changelings. I'll send a link when I find it again.)
