Description
Overhead render of Mount St. Helens with a Martian-type surface. I love this terrain, as it is so wonderfully detailed...well, being a 4097x4097 it should be! I really like that you can see the old lava flows off of the volcano.4097x4097 DEM terrain of Mount St. Helens downloaded from Terranuts
Rendersize: 4000x3000
Rendertime: about 6 hours
Postwork: resizing and sharpening in photoshop
Enjoy! I hope you like it!

Wooow, Great pic!
You CAN see the old lava flows from the 1800's and 1900's and stuff.

Wow, it could almost be a satellite photo of post apocalyptic Earth, interesting choice of surface map and view.

I'm curious - was this generated by terregen itself or something like world machine? Or did the guys at terrenuts actually went and used geological data? it's superbly detailed...

Whoever created the terrain used actual U.S. Geological Service data, so it's very accurate. Thanks!

Yeah,
Sometimes overhead renders can be a bit of a pain to render correctly as you have to be exactly precise in the camera location. It looks like you pulled it off perfectly in this piece, though. I gotta give you credit for that.
