hiccup and toothless from the animated feature How to Train Your Dragon- for those of you haven't watched this movie, you should (or shame on you; jk) ! x)) but seriously, it's full of win
the characters were so endearing and it was surprisingly good!!! it was very sweet how the two of them bonded. anyway, now that it's summer, i decided to submit a piece for the sake of submitting.*sigh* i know i haven't been very active for two reasons: school kept me busy and i was too tired to finished anything. so i hope for now, this will do. i'm afraid that i haven't captured toothless's cuteness enough and my scanner ruined my colors (the sky is too dark *wah*!!! .,_.,) V, _ V, ..... hm- hiccup looks like a... girl?! ., A ., darn fingers. :< i fail!

That's understandable because for some people animals are harder to draw in relation to people. (I admit was kind of cheating w/ this picture by obscuring his body) Even worse, Toothless is an imaginary creature so we are not as familiar w/ his anatomy... So we have to use references for that.

yeah. i dont think you cheated. its just a easyer way then having to draw the body. if you can try to draw toothless fighting over hiccup with another dragon or astrid. that would be a huge lol if it was astrid. but try to draw toothless body around hiccup for warmth. that would be sooooo cute! T-T

thank you!!! we artists are very critical of our work, so i appreciate your comments, it means the world to me =^ - ^=! i was very worried that i didn't capture the spirit or essence of these characters enough.
