One of my favorite scenes from Adolescence Utena was when she first accepted Saionji's challenge on the rose field in the sky.
The reason I drew Utena like this was because of how the artists painted the background sky in the movie. It was just... unreal.
That and her permed hair: STROKE OF GENIUS on Chiho and Kunihiko's part. I love, love, LOVED doing that part when I was drawing.
She just looks so strong doesn't she?

Honestly, besides drawing her eyes (which I LOVE the way they do them in the anime and movie), her hair was SOOOO much fun. I noticed how much attention that it gotten in the film because it was permed instead of straight in the series, so, I wanted to capture that!
