This is the picture of the evolution of the Mario & Luigi/Mario & Luigi RPG series sprites, the first one is the Mario and Luigi sprites that was used in Superstar Saga, the second one is the Mario and Luigi sprites that was used in Partners In Time, the third one is the Mario and Luigi sprites that was used in Bowser's Inside Story, the fourth one is the Mario and Luigi sprites that was used in all four 3DS Mario & Luigi games (Dream Team/Dream Team Bros, Paper Jam/Paper Jam Bros, Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions and Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey), the fifth one is the Mario and Luigi sprites that was used in Heart Shard and Magic Star (While Mario and Luigi are not in Magic Star but it uses the same sprites as Heart Shard's), and finally the sixth one is basically red and green question marks which means that the seventh Mario & Luigi game is going to have a new artstyle, the sprites in the seventh Mario & Luigi game will have outlines just like the older Mario & Luigi games back in 2000s.Super Mario series © Nintendo Co., Ltd.
