I have said my work has a connection to minimalist art. Many art "experts" scoff at that notion. They misunderstand the complexity of the elements in the work. I feel a calming meditative effect when I work on and view them. They often have a similarity to color field painting and minimalism even in their complexity. The emerging ideas about simplexity I have been exploring in my art for decades. It is not a new concept to me at all. I think I have been aware of it since I was a child. I have always found a calmness dealing with complex systems.
