nice crisp image....i always have a difficult time catching nice textures like this without losing detail.

canon 5D....i dont think my problem is the camera....i think its an issue of lighting and holding my hands steady enough....i tend to take a lot of low light shots.

Oh I shoot really dark too. I shoot with a high shutter speed so light never washes out my texture. I always shoot in Raw so I can boost the low lit area with Shadows/Highlights (or fill light). Have you tried to play around with adobe lightroom yet?

i recently got lightroom, and it has some great features on it....but i've had a lot of random technical problems with it....i think i need to actually sit down and read some better instructions on it to learn my way around it better. photoshop was a lot easier to figure out by trial and error

yeah it is not bad once you sit and read the Manual for about an hour. I was able to pick it up really quick.
