I hope people get this...I've always wondered why the show is called "Bleach," and a while ago I decided this must be the reason. I mean, in every episode at least one character bleeds basically all their blood away during a fight, so, yeah...

well, its called bleach cause kubo didn't wanna use White (he wanted a name to contrast black).

I actually can answer the question (though your answer is funnier) Ok, the true reason to why it's called Bleach is because they all wear black. Kubo-sama first thought to go with something that had to do with the color black, but thought it was boring. So he thought of what was opposite, which is white. What makes things white? Bleach.

Ha ha ha. I love it! Actually I wondered that myself and looked it up. I was quite supprised how it fit in and made sence with the story in a whole aspect. 'Bleach' has two meanings when translated from japaness. 1: is the ovious with clothes and stuff like that. 2: the other is to cleanse the soul or purify one soul of sin.

Yeah...a lot of people think it's because of his hair. Others have told me it has to do with black/white and good/evil....I won't be able to explain it well, but if you browse through the other comments I'm sure you can find the real explanation

But it's actually called Bleach because the entire series is a constant fight between the light/good and dark/evil. And bleach changes anything dark coloured to light.
