I was going to upload this tomorrow, but this clip was brought to my attention what Hasbro decided to do about Derpy, and I had to state my opinion about it:

now, like most Bronies, I'm not a big fan of this new voice, nor do I think this was necessary to change what they changed on Derpy. she was a charming nod to the Brony community, and could have been an interesting character.

and for what reason did they change her? because she was offensive to people who were mentally disabled? I know mentally disabled people (a couple of friends and 3 BROTHERS to be exact), and they would not find Derpy offensive or insulting in the slightest. she's just clumsy and has an eye condition, that's all. I don't see anything wrong or offensive about CHARACTER FLAWS. Hell, her clumsiness would have actually related with some people. if this is so offensive, you might as well erase Goofy from existence as well. :/ though I'm aware that this isn't entirely Hasbro's fault, and more towards the idiotic soccer moms who think anything resembling a specific group of people would offend said group, or that anything not considered "normal" would damage the minds of their little girls. XC

case in point, Derpy is not offensive, she just has flaws. everyone has flaws. it's what makes them likable characters. the changes were not necessary. period.

the recent controversy regarding Derpy has a striking resemblance to what happens in the Disney adaptation of Mulan; both have their chances to shine and use the chance to be themselves (or clumsy XP), which causes major controversy around their community. I tried a different lineless style for this pic. :b not really my best style, but it was worth a try. X3 and yes, the un-derped in the reflection is totally intentional.

so tell me, bronies: when will her reflection show who she is inside?
