Description
Hey, here's some more info on PE in response to all the comments from the last few pics.Honestly I'm stunned by the responses to those pics, I thought many of you would have given up a long time ago but you're still eager to have this figure! I can say its been extremely motivating seeing your comments! Thank you!
I've seen some voice concern that I might just be repeating what I did before, then giving up at some point. Well I cannot give up now because of many reasons, one of which is quite simply, cash! I've spent way too much time on this project and I need to get some return for it. I got kids to feed... well eh cats. But then there's definitely also the will to want to finish it, and the unwillingness to see Poser go by another day without a professional figure to go with it.
The hurdles I faced last time are no different today, but I've chosen not to see them as hurdles anymore, rather just 'poser'. Poser just has issues that still need dealing with, most of you will know what I mean and if we accept that for now, Poser is still a great tool to use for CGI art. Poser is getting improved bit-by-bit and once PE is out there, they might have all the more reason to speed up that process. You definitely need to voice your opinion to them because they do eventually listen.
The other hurdles I faced was the environment I used to live in, as some of you know: Malawi. A country falling to pieces, buckling under the weight of the corruption and as a consequence not being able to handle the difficult hand its been dealt by climate change. It just wasn't a good environment to foster a career in CG art and comics in, let alone develop a figure that many people hope to be a game-changer. Even the local inhabitants struggle to simply live there as many of them are some of the poorest people in the world, its sad. But anyway, the UK is far better for me, in fact I have sleepless nights because there's always electricity. The availability of electricity used to determine my sleeping habits. Now I have to force myself to sleep!
Anyway, PE will come out asap. I've been a little quiet about it because I wasn't entirely sure in what form she'll be coming out, but yeah her base rig is as good as complete. There's lots to tell but let me just leave you with these pics for now:
And there's a pic of what the hair I'm making is capable of doing with the rigging I've given it. It can also be used for dynamic cloth sims. Morphs are sill being made.

I've all but stopped using Poser due to the lack of figure support from SM but this girl is highly enticing. The main problem I foresee is the lack of any second party support, especially for clothes and hair, as that's what basically killed most of the last several promising Poser figures that have come along. Getting a clothes conversion utility like Evil Innocence's and autofit clones for DS available as soon as possible to your product launch will make a huge difference as to how useful it will be to the general user base

Thanks Cyber! Yes the support is going to be an enormous challenge. I will provide many options to convert clothing, but at the end of the day I think it will be more about trying to convince vendors to support her. I think the only way to do that it to make her so appealing that the vendors will get pressured by artists like you and me to do it, but not just appealing with looks, but also options, bending, features, etc. I think a lot of the older figures lacked in that department. To top V4, or to challenge any Genesis figure, it needs to be one HECK of a figure. So yes, its going to be an enormous challenge. I will say though that I don't seek to dominate the figure market. I don't think I'd even want to, but enough to provide a decently supported figure for Poser artists around the world to get on with their lives, and their art. I hope PE will be good enough for that.

I've been wondering about PE a lot lately. Do you have an approximate price point? I will be buying unless it's way over my limited budget.

erogenesisCGI In reply to Simidae [2017-09-11 23:19:57 +0000 UTC]
Not quite sure but I definitely don't want to overprice it. There's going to be a free download available for people to test and see if they like the base. If yes then there will probably be a core pack for like $10-$15 with the essentials and then addons, texture packs, pose packs, morph packs and bundles which you can hopefully put together according to your wishes. Don't worry I usually underprice my things because I want people to actually enjoy buying it lol!

You could probably go $20 & do well. I will gladly pay 20 for the base, with at least one hd texture & a few morphs.

Yes we are still waiting and wanting to go to P.E. How well does she animate? What kind of shader support? Toon shaders might be nice. I've been dabbling with creating "retro" RPG using RPG Maker MV but RPGMV seems to have limited a limited number of characters / walk cycle animations out of the box.
I've been doing most of my work for the last year with the models and tools from the "dark side": The Evil Dazonians because there hasn't been a 3rd party model that was actually usable "out of the box" that would allow for using previously purchased props and clothing. It is almost like non-Dazonian models have been the same as they were when Terai Yuki was a thing over 10 years ago [in fact I think that model in looks and usability probably beats Poser's G1, G2, and Miki 2,3,4, A1, A2, and P1 & P2... I suppose it's because we are doing things Poser "wasn't supposed to do"
Would you please get this done already? I'll scrape together the cash somehow.... that is if Evil Hurricane Irma doesn't make that impossible...

We're in the South Carolina by the Swamp [otherwise known as "the Low Country"] . We've had a lot of rain [There's a pond in one quarter of my yard that wasn't there yesterday]. We've had tornado warnings but fortunately they did not come to visit. We still have power [During Hurricane Matthew we lost it for five days.... which was kinda hard since we are on well water which uses an electric pump]... So we've been fortunate...
Looking forward to seeing P.E. when ever she is ready...

Enough with teasing. Get her out.
I'd love to see 'all' the details she provides and test her usability in Cinema 4D, as well as making textures and morphs for PE. Some of them may be useful for Poser users as well.
I'm glad as well that you are in a better suited environment that makes it easier for you to follow up on your ideas.

That's why I didn't start to work on an own character so far. I found a way to get G3 over to Cinema 4D with some assets with scripting in Daz Studio and Cinema 4D. Still far from perfect. It is not so easy with poser characters, because tri-ax weighting is not supported by Cinema 4D and similar apps and G3/G8 is already based on quaternion weighting, which is supported by game engines as well.
PE to Cinema 4D will be quite a job to do, if you want to pose her there as well, but I really like 'complete' women

erogenesisCGI In reply to Singular3D [2017-09-12 09:15:16 +0000 UTC]
Poser still has scaling issues when it comes to extended Weight Mapping (when the WM affects a bodypart beyond its intended bodypart), so its basically forced me to go Poser basic which will probably make it work in DS. I haven't confirmed it yet but you could convert it to triax and then probably to blended weight (not sure about that last step either btw). The JCMs should do the rest.

TOP TIP: Put yourself onto pay-as-you-go electricity and limit yourself to a fiver a fortnight... you'll fucking sleep, son! Mind you, gas is worse for me... forty quid a week! Yeah, I know, my boiler is shagged, fucking thing. Still, loving the prospect of PE... for the first time in my life... strangely, the only thing I enjoyed about P.E. in school was seeing the girls in rather next to nothing, with 'camel toes' making regular appearances through tight gym shorts... but that's the main reason I skipped it, so I could watch from the sidelines. Well, the main reason was scoliosis, but bollocks, it was never that bad, really.
P.S. Message me back, you miserable sod! I get more response from women, and that's saying something, lol! XD

Ero; You are the only single man/artist that can be successful on a 3D virtual human figure's all kind of correct anatomical bending issues in poser/DAZ world! You think/design your character alone, sculpt her alone ,test her alone, improve her alone, and even give her a role on short comics that you share with us!Also you did all of things in Africa!!struggle with lot's of hardships!.... If we can see all of your labor and effort/enthusiasm , how can we give up my friend???
It's very obvious; your characters are anatomically far better/successful than whole DAZ-poser series characters that published until today! Ok,maybe some users could wants different faces or body forms, but it's not a problem when you give necessary morphs with your figure! anyone can create his/her own unique character with using that morphs also,as in the Victoria or Genesis series figures,Some other artists could create different new characters on your character Basis!..
Important thing is having a virtual figure that can do every anatomical move that a real persons do in real life!..You are working for this my friend! and you are doing this yourself without any big company support behind you!...
I believe you will be successful!I can't think any rendering artist don't care or want to having a figure that has a perfect anatomical features for all kind of scenes and positions! If you can do same thing for a Male figure as well,I believe your figures will be shake our Poser/DAZ world!especially Poser users will find a perfect chance to continue with poser again after serious desperation of couldn't be able to use latest improved Genesis figures! As far as I see, especially poser and poser users needs your anatomically perfect human figures!
actually,For the name of my own, I can say;Since long time,I'm really sick and tire to can't give even some very simple body poses to Victoria and Michael because of well known "bending issues!"!especially if they need to be naked or Half-naked during that pose!! issue is not always related with erotic poses,How can I give the body pose that I need to Vicky or Mike if they wear some half-naked Ancient Greek-Rome or other kind of fantasy outfits??? Your figures -as far as I can see-finish these kind of problems completely!.....Well,For now I don't know how can I solve the outfit problem but, if I were to use them some how,Until I can get some outfits I'm willing to make only pinup renders as well!
Good luck and Keep going my friend,You will be successful!

Well,As for "my" pin-ups; Probably,Since I do not own your new character for now, I will use That old Vicky again!Unfortunately I couldn't tell the exact time for the pinups but I think I'll do,a time not too far away!
Nowadays I'm trying to make some tests with DAZ's Iray as well as my little Steampunk series,But there's some noise problem in the DAZ/Iray renders that I couldn't prevent Even if I'm use the "Noise filter " command "on" !!!? But I'm trying

In my humble opinion I think you created the best there can be! I don't use Poser, I use DAZ and went from v3 to v7 (haven't gone for v8 and don't wanne). Your figure can do all the things we want all these V's to do, but they simply don't. Not even with all the optional adjustments that are available on the market.
PE does what it has to do, bent like Beckham . It's the dedication of a single person who wants to make the perfect CGI figure. Not initially driven by financial gain and having to make a more or less perfect/better figure to go on the market and sell quick (given the speed at which DAZ is pumping out new V's). I hope PE is gonna do you good.
And now ... enough of this kissing your ass. Make more figures and comics! You have 24/7 electricity and who needs sleep

erogenesisCGI In reply to sykosan [2017-09-07 16:04:57 +0000 UTC]
Poser can be a lot of fun! (but also a big pain in the butt lol)
Why I don't use a better render engine? Good question. Hehe, fyi the following is not a rant, but my reasons are not very straight forward... hence the wordy response
I will admit that my renders are not always the best, but then again is it really that important? I've been asking myself this question a lot over the last few years. At the end of the day, with what I've seen, people respond more to stories, dialog, interaction, and simple fun basically, and the renders just need to be 'good enough' as opposed to be distractedly crap lol. Its a combination of squeezing out as much as I can from Poser's inbuilt renderer (Firefly) and cranking out a lot of renders in one go. Making realistic pictures takes a lot of time, and that time can also be used to tell a story. So I make due with what's within reach.
Yeah firefly is definitely not the best, there are far better renderers currently, but Firefly's advantage is that its built into Poser and therefore the workflow is super fast as compared to external renderers like Octane and Reality, where you have to rebuild the scenes materials outside of Poser again. One doesn't do a quick test render with Octane, you can say. Octane costs more than Poser and also needs serious graphics card to be effective. Reality is very complex and I just haven't had any time to figure it out. Its the same idea when someone would ask me why I bother with Poser when Maya or Lightwave can do so much better! Again, it would be great but too expensive, not as concise as Poser, and basically totally overkill for what I do. However Poser's new inbuilt renderer has the potential to be better than Firefly since its based on Blender's Cycles renderer (although people complain that its very slow), and I've done a few renders with it, but I haven't had any time to teach myself Superfly properly and I need to convert all my mats to SF anyway.
So at the end of the day, what's more important? Realistic pictures, or a fun story? Its obviously both, a balance, although currently (with all the things I'm doing) I mostly choose for the story. I give myself the excuse that people have been entertained by drawn comics for decades, and nobody ever worried about the realism there lol Of course that doesn't mean I won't look into other renderers, I definitely do, but again, I'd rather be cranking out stories, entertaining people, than getting slowed down by some super complex renderer! I think this also applies to many other artists out there, also traditional ones that draw comics by hand. Sometimes you have to just accept that you need to hurry up and get on with it, you don't always need to be perfect. If you can, great, but not with hundreds of fans waiting lol
