True that, and aside from that the Bath scene where he saves her and Pakku. aahh, it was the very moment I felt that I will ship them (watched the anime first before reading the manga) Β I also really feel they will become canon especially with the turns of events happening on the manga.
However, I cannot deny to agree with some that when Shiemi was introduced. It was made clear they were canon.. though who knows. this pairing might turn out like Hinata and Naruto.

Shiemi's understanding for love is the typical one for a dense heroine. There are theories that she is either following the manga or that she said those words because she wants to be something first or prove herself first, but I prefer the later. Until then we won't get much info untilΒ Kazue KatΕ returns from Hiatus.Β
Hahaha, no worries, there is really no rule to become an anime fan / otaku. I only watched like the some episodes of the First season of Naruto before dropping it (only watched it on T.V and it stopped airing) Though I am always updated with the story/progress due to my friends. But I really hope they end up like Hinata and Naruto.
Hinata being Izumo who had always love Naruto from a certain distance while always being there for him and constantly giving advice to him. While Naruto being Rin that loves this girl and always trying to get her attention and affection but later on realizes that the one he deserves and truly love was the girl that had been with her all this time (Hinata/Izumo)

I know what you mean. I cannot help but Ship Shiemi with Yukio and it seems for me. Yukio needs Shiemi more or they both need Shiemi in the same amount.
Just, you know... the heart of a shipper. We know that Shiemi was introduced to us as supposed to be "canon" ship for Rin, but we just end up falling for the Ship-that-we-all-love-but-we-know-we-will-suffer. Hahaha
