Aivan uskomaton otos! Todella hieno kuva!

Great picture! it's hard to get snakes in the water well, especially with the submerged details visible. The water must be incredibly clear.

Dat is just awesome. How do people take photos like theese? Do they actually go looking for snakes or do they just run into one and take a pic?

Heh, I love this shot. It is rare that you see a snake look curious and that's exactly this looks like to me. It's like, "Periscope up! Hey, what's going on up here?"

Love the way the snake pops out in its surroundings. The clear water makes it look so vivid and clean. Nice one!

I can't figure out which part of that photo is more bizarre.... the algae looks like steam from a hot spring... the fish are floating in space....and the snake is wearing a Halloween skeleton suit! I can't convince myself its real - keep having to look at it again. I even checked to make sure it wasn't posted in a manipulation category! Congratualations, you sure know how to catch the attention - and how to use the filters to do it.

Nice shot, Esa, though I am having a hard time figuring out the perspective. The water appears to be exceedingly clear and reflectionless, yet it looks like the frothed surface below, or a reflection of clouds.

eswendel In reply to pearwood [2006-07-16 17:53:51 +0000 UTC]

...thanks Steve! Yes, I used a polarizer filter which takes out all the reflections from the surface - there is alga on the bottom of the shallow water.
Regards Esa.

Thanks. Now I can enjoy the shot without scratching my head quite so much.
It is a lovely thing as it pokes its head above the surface.
