Description
testing out lighting, color, and render effects in bryce 5. this was supposed to be a random "quickie" render just to test-drive settings for another image i had in mind. yieah. and that "quickie" stretched into a four day render marathon. super-fine anti-aliasing will do that i guess.Related content

nice to see you branching out a bit.. looking forward to more :] though i'm not too sure i'm feeling the noise filter. either way though, keep it coming :]

nah, it's not a noise filter. i rendered this with the DOF settings on default and i guess it's so extreme that there's grain and noise. funky. definitely need to tweak with the settings more.

yeah, i used to use bryce...i got too bored with it and moved on to 3ds maya...etc but thats not the point.
Think yeah u did go a little crazy with DOF and anti-aliasing BIG time... otherwise i like where you were going with it

nah, i started with rendering way back when but put it on the back burner to play with photoshop more. since i got bryce5 for cheap, i decided to make 3d stuff again.

Haha. Yeah - the same for me. I just want to "test" something. I make it in a low resolution say ...400x300. Then I think "hm maybe a little more AA and a DoF?". So 640x480, DoF ON and 4x4 AA. "Ooh quite nice" - But when I use DoF I need more AA. ... Ok and a better resoulution.
So I end up with my "Testimage" with DoF, ~25x AA, 1024 resolution, 5x raytracing, etc ... Takes hours to render.
Yes - your "quickie". Really nice and abstract. I especially like the flowers. Only the water looks a little bit strange - maybe like a golfball

haha! golfball's a good descript for the water. that's a preset.
