Here in my city of Rotterdam theres as much great pictures to be taken as in your area... i just wish i had a great camera so i can join you in your venture for better pictures and especially offering wallpapers that you cant get anywhere else!

you know, my camera's just an average point-n-shoot. i was using my old 4megapixel until early this year till it crapped out on me. so you don't really need a really fancy camera to get great shots -- especially if you're planning to run every image through photoshop at the end of the day. if i ever want to go purely photography, i'll have to save up and get a nikon d90
