Description
No, not that ISIS. This is the Egyptian goddess of wisdom turned tragically-misused DC Comics character, not the group of goat raping pedophile prophet worshippers who still haven't figured out toilet paper! This isn't her canon costume from the short-lived 1970s TV show or the comic books; I've not been able to find the bits to make a really good version of that one in Second Life. But I came across this dress recently while shopping for something totally unrelated and I thought it would be perfect for an Isis costume.Related content

If I ever do a "tribute" to that ISIS here it will be an image of their bullet and shrapnel-riddled bodies lying in the sand and being run over by American fighting vehicles.

I'll second that. But with the British and the US.

That would be ok with me, too. I just wish someone would do it while it would still be relatively simple.

At this point, almost all of DC's female characters could be deemed "tragically misused." Time to clean editorial house, WB!
Lovely image!

Sadly, I have to agree, and I did keep up with a lot of the New 52 ones through around issue 30. Even the ones I liked were....let's just say less than perfect.
And thank you!

The only New 52 title that boasted a consistent approach to strong female characterization was Brian Azzarello's Wonder Woman... and he wrapped up his run a few months back, so now that's over, too.

I wanted to like it so much, but the way it started out with Hippolyta and all the Amazons basically wiped out had a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning. I want her to be strong, she's Wonder Woman, so... But she's so powerful now that the only storylines they can do that pose her any plausible challenge are against the Greek gods, themselves, or similar entities? I thought they did alright with Batwoman, but they've made her such a walking stereotype in so many ways it irks me. Not enough to make me hate it, but it could be soooo much better.

I would probably have been reading Batwoman right up to the "we're not letting her get married" debacle except I dropped the book over they way Amy Reeder was treated. I should have avoided it altogether when Greg Rucka declined to participate at the very beginning, as that was a giant red flag.
Sorry the WW title didn't work for you, but at least she wasn't dating Superman in it.
Any thoughts on the revelation regarding Catwoman's sexuality?

No, but they totally teased a Batwoman-Wonder Woman kiss, and then it turned out it was Batwoman kissing her girlfriend. Although I think that was actually in Batwoman when Wonder Woman was doing a cameo around #12 or so.
I don't see the Catwoman thing as a major surprise, they've kind of been hinting at it for years. It would really only surprise me if they took that turn with one of their major heroines like Wonder Woman, Batgirl, or Supergirl. With Catwoman, they've got her morally ambiguous nature to use as a cushion, and they've got Batwoman as their token lesbian, so I think that will probably be it for awhile for DC.

Regarding the "revelation" of Catwoman's bisexuality, I agree completely. The subtext was there all along. I'm not sure why DC felt the need to highlight it; perhaps it was meant as a partial apology for previous LGBT mis-steps? The only real surprise is that they didn't publicize the hell out of it. They usually can't help themselves.
