This trick was the piece i was lacking! I'm guessing the same rules could be applied to other gigantic mechanism, such as tank fortresses or giant robots

As someone who worked in the motion picture industry for many years completely attest to this tutorial(as well as others posted by you awesomely talented guys).
When working on Balto, among other assignments, I was tasked with modelling a cargo ship which was part of the story but my only actual reference was a newspaper clipping
almost the size of a postage stamp with hardly any detail visible. So I had to do a research and to cut the story short, the only thing that made that ship believably big was adding all the intricate
details.

Yes, 100%, it's the only way, right? So nice to hear you like the tutorials - especially as you have so much experience from the industry - and you worked on Roger Rabbit - my fave film of all time
Huge cheers!

Thank You Lorenzo!
Indeed, all your tutorials are *Must* for anyone in this industry including Animation.
Yeah, it was a blast working on Roger Rabbit. Many great memories!
Here is one: The studio in Camden Town was getting settled in by all the crew including Richard Williams who could not find the legs for his office table. Someone placed them somewhere but no one could find them, when I heard him mention this one day, I went for a quick search and immediately found them under one of the corner tables. He was so shocked and pleased at the same time that he pulled his wallet from his pocked and handed me five pound note. (not a small amount in those days ) I refused to take it but when he threatened to give me more I decided to take just the five.
Big Thanks Lorenzo!

Haha! That is a GREAT anecdote! You basically sold him back his own table legs
Until he died recently, Richard Williams had a studio space here in Bristol in the UK at Aardman, where my brother also had a studio desk - my bro got RW to sign a huge Roger Rabbit poster for me, now has pride of place here at home. Such an inspirational movie, the work you all did on that film blew everything else out of the water - raised the standard of young kid me a long way up, I 'm so grateful!
Huge cheers!
