my drawings have come a long way, but I'm still feeling unconfident when it comes to environments. Did you spend a lot of time drawing from photographs? Like just working from photos of landscapes?

Yes, I use reference, my imagination, and a mix of the two! Your comment has made me think a tutorial on good ways to creatively use reference materials would be a good one? I'll add it to the list!

This tutorial can be used to give a basic understanding of rocks and how to use them in environments, but a full tutorial dedicated to designing mountains is a great idea - I've added it to the list, thank you!!
