I got a new sketch book. Well... I don't know if one would call it a sketchbook, since sketch paper isn't usually 100 lb pressed paper.... But it is for me. lol. I like the feel of heavier paper, and it holds marker better. I'm so picky about my sketch paper. lol.To test out the durability of the paper, I drew this as the first page. I wanted something that would look neat since the cover is translucent. I tend to label my sketchbooks by year so that I have a rough idea of what I'm looking at. This is the first that I've done so this way.
I'm also trying to add more detail to my art. T'is on my list of goals. And Euclid's vest just didn't look... enough as a plain blue. So I put some woven designs in there.
I've got another picture of him that I'm working on between commissions (mostly while I'm at school, in between note taking). It has a lot more detail than I'm used to putting on a picture, so hopefully that'll be a nice change in my gallery as well. 
T'is almost more dynamic than most pics I have, so that's another plus. Anywho, I'll stop my rambling and get on with the posting. Cheers!

Ooooo, I had a notebook like that for school once. I love those things!! BTW, I drew a Mononoke picture and *le sigh* it is ruined... I have let you down master... The shading! I wasn't watching and now... I fear there's no turning back. Gur! The only downside of markers, no Ctrl-Z. I'll still post it, but I need another few green makers. I'm waiting for coupons... Then I can finish the background, I don't think it will matter though. Ugh! Bad joo joo!

I think there's some bristol board lying around my room in a box somewhere. Or at least I don't think I used it all up. Bristol board is nice because of its smooth surface, and that it's of a heavier weight. ^__^
I can use Bristol for gouache I think, but not for watercolor.. I tried that before and it did not go over well.

Ahhhhhh. I was actually wondering how Bristol would take watercolor. But I do have some Arches left, so I'll probably just stick with that.

Well, actually I just tried watercolor on the Bristol again (was testing out the gouache.. it will take some getting used to, since it's more opaque than watercolor) and it turned out okay. Dunno what I was doing last time. XD
