For a Guild Jam thing on Gaia. Hope I'm getting this in on time... Been rather busy this past month. Spent most of the available arting time on that commission. (Rest was spent studying like a good girl.)So this is Euclid in sort of superhero-ish mode? Or at least showing off some skills with magic and summoning. Always loved the magic and tome thing. Used to pretend I was the evil queen off of Snow White because of that. (Well, minus the evil witch dying part, anyway. lol.) Been a while since I last drew a dragon, alas. I should draw them more often.
No background. Fonce was planning on doing a banner of sorts with these, so I kept it plain.

I adore how you've been playing with lighting. And I especially love the lighting in this. How it plays on his face and across his clothing. Especially in the lines of the coat and across his pants. I see you've been using textures and such as well. Very nice. I like the one used on his vest. I love the expression on his face! It's so different from the one he usually has. I think it'd be cool to see him in a different moods type thing that's going around. Ya know what I'm talking about?

It's pics like this that make me sad that you don't have time to do a comic. T-T
Anyway, his face doesn't seem all that emotive if he's performing some kind of attack. Kind of feels "blah", if that makes any sense. His shirt also kind of bother me in that it tucks into his pants, but there's no slack that causes it to fold along the belt. And the book seems REALLY thick for something to be holding it in one hand. I suppose he could have strong wrists (mine are really weak), but I can't see myself holding that book open in one hand without propping the bottom against my chest. The back of the book also seems too vertical for the way his hand is positioned. The back cover is at a deep slant, but his hand and the front cover seem parallel to the ground. The positioning just looks uncomfortable.

The shirt was suppose to be a vest, so it doesn't tuck in, but I didn't show that very well... (Gotta love run-on sentences.) And the book gave me fits the whole way through. Gotta work on those things.

I really like what you did with the lighting here, I'd say it is a strong component of this piece. The composition is striking and the concept is really cool too. I quite like the shirt pattern and the dragon is pretty sweet in design. I feel the texture on the pants might be a tad heavy, but otherwise this looks good.
