Description
This isn't finished yet, but I feel it's a good enough stopping point to announce my entry into the world of COLORThis is based on a very particular homage to an homage to an homage. See my original sketch here [link] - and if you want the whole story, see this journal entry [link] (when this is finished, I'll recap on the final piece). *DrStrangebob is heavily involved in this odd little escapade.
Short version: Norse and Celtic Gods go out and misbehave. Topless Valkyrie involved. All-seeing birds notify Odin, who notifies the ladies here at Valhalla flats (L To R: Hel, Danu, Sif, and a smirking Freya). All but Freya have loved ones involved in the reported atrocities and general misbehavin'. All based to varying degrees on concepts and characterizations I've been somewhat involved with in =sprite-ariel 's comic ~ Recall-Ragnarok Go check it out.
Still to be done here... repair shoddy linework and add shading/highlights to the ladies.

I love your colors. Forgive my ignorance, but who are the stars of this pic? I do recognize the three on the iPod poster by the window.

Thank you, 0-9
Left to right, Hel is the Norse Goddess of the Underworld, half dead and half alive (hence the black half of her body). According to the storyline in = sprite-ariel 's comic, her boyfriend is one Oengus Ogg, the Celt God of Love. Oengus is in double trouble, as seated next to Hel is a very "I'd rather be sleeping" Danu, who is the Celt matriarchal equivalent to Odin, kind of running the Celt pantheon. Oengus is one of her sons, and another one of her sons, Cernnunos, is very likely responsible for getting Oengus involved in the shenanigans. So she sent out another one of her sons, the honorable Lugh, to go retrieve them both.
Next to Danu is a fully armed to the teeth Sif of the Golden Locks, wife to a certain Norse thunder god who was seen waving dollar bills at a topless Valkyrie in the scene depicted in * DrStrangebob 's incriminating picture. Certain that Thor's "good buddy" Loki, God of Mischief, played a role in encouraging her husband's bad behavior, she has TWO blades drawn and ready. One for the each of them. I don't think she's thinking happy thoughts at all just now...
Freya, however, the Norse Goddess of Love--who it is suspected just might have a thing for said God of Thunder--is tickled pink.
And yes, I'd like to think that the Aesir have excellent taste in art, but it is far more likely that the author of this piece is a vain @#$@#

HA! Great job! Still learning to color, eh. Looks like a pretty good start.
Hmm, that wall hanging looks awfully familiar.
Love your ability to recap. I kept expecting the announcement of "Film and news at 11:00!"

Thank you once again for the vote of confidence... I'm hopeful that I can transition some of what I've learned from doing Photo Manipulations towards making genuine digital paintings soon, although this particular piece may stay "comic-style"... not sure yet. But either way, there's still lots more to be done, so thanks again

I have that lamp, too, DD About as close as I get to research... if it's in walking distance and doesn't involve me leaving my house...
Thank you for your comment, and for recognizing the frog slippers! Woohoo! Freya, for some reason--I mean she's barely even in the pic--is my favorite as well.

I love the frog slippers!. And I think it's because of Freya's expression she's so good

Freya's expression is no doubt at least partially fueled by visions of Sif and Thor in divorce court, and an AVAILABLE god of thunder

Lol, that is so cool! ^_^ I also love how you got one of your deviations in the background (as a poster/picture)...and all the other things you start to notice the more you look, (especially the socks and the middle guys funky slippers!) Excellent work so far, I especially like the girl on the far left with the cyan-ish hair, she looks awesome! I wish I had a red couch...

I think, secretly, we ALL wish for red couches, Holly Thank you so much for your comment. Actually, in this picture, the red couch was necessary to depict anger and perhaps even blood. These are not happy campers!

=o Whoa! Maybe that's why I like it, reds have always been fav colours of mine...but your right, red usually always depicts something like that, especially blood @_@

Yep. First one of those bad Norse/Celt boys through that door's gonna be pretty much like those poor first boys off the boats at D-Day. Fodder
