I love those old trees that hang on to life from a rock.

This one is very striking and the shadows and distant blue hills provide a perfect backdrop to the tree. This is an instant favourite.

As I pulled this up on the screen, I thought "I hope this was taken on film". I shot a lot of transparencies around that period (mainly Kodachrome), but only in 35mm. And certainly with scenery nothing like this spectacular. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks Craig. I'm going through my old images. Beside digital, I recently started shooting film again..... Velvia 50 with a Pentax 7II. Guess they took our Kodachrome AND Ektachrome away.

I'm familiar with the stock, but not the camera. Is it a 6x7, or something other?
I quite like Fuji's transparency stock, but it's a little bit TOO faithful - neutral to a bit cool in the colour balance. I'm itching to get back into some film. Transparencies might be the place to start. I was deeply saddened when they stopped making Kodachrome, but Ektachrome as well? That's just too sad for words! I know Ektachrome is a little on the blue side, but still, it's an icon! How can they do this to us?
You'll apprecaite this, I'm sure. I have a work colleague who shoots 5"x4" transparency! He doesn't print or display it, just gets out the trannies occasionally and admires them on the light box. How cool is that?
