Wow, how'd you get that shot?
I think the profile gives the bird character

I was lucky. I tried to catch one for a long time but they usually run away very quickly. This just sat there long enough for me to take that shot.

Thank you

I see these birds all the time but many times I wish I can get a closer look at them. Great shot!

Thank you
The run away pretty fast. I've been here for 2 years and this is the first time I got close enough to have a decent shot.

We should see our first robin in about a month. It's always been one of the first harbingers of spring in Canada.

Here robins are all year long but back in Poland thrushes and blackbirds (very closely related to American robins) are sign of spring too

Yes robins are of the thrush family but they differ in that they spend most of their time on the ground and they are amoungst the most stupid of birds in that they build their nests in places that cats can get to very easily.

Lol! At least they usually build in trees - mourning doves lay their eggs directly on the ground!

Oh, thrushes spend plenty of time on the ground although I most often saw them sitting on power lines. I think they don't have much choice - ground's were their food is. I always liked watching blackbirds skip through grass. They loved annoying the cat - getting almost close enough to be caught then easily running away when he tried to make the move.
