Description
A young African Wold Dog or Painted dog enjoys a nice roll in the spring flowers of his grassland territory!Whew I wasn't even sure I was going to enter this contest for but here it is!
While it wasn't required I took a precarious amount of time researching natural African grassland wildflowers for this piece, a detail I feel needs to be mentioned because animals always appear at their best in their natural environment. I also spent several hours working out the full body dynamic pose (right down to each paw showing a different angle and the characteristic lack of dew claws which is a unique feature of painted dogs. On a personal note and I hope this doesn't effect the judges' opinion of me: This contest had a tedious amount of rules. It's your contest and I in the end did enter but only after being contacted by several different people asking me to. I was surprised by the season assignment and the order of what my piece was to be named. I followed these requirements but after the contest I will be renaming this piece to something I find more fitting, I spent over 10 hours on it for no monetary gain and it's my baby after all.

Haha. It's Luci for short. It was originally Lucifer, after a friend's pet Robin (they did release him don't worry!), but it became Luci because it was more simple.
